weightloss is 'simple' really for most people. It's just a formula where energy in should be less than energy out. You can make it as compl;ex as calorie counting or as simple as trial and error. How much you exercise to lose weight will depend on how much you eat and vice versa. Me, I eat a fairly robust diet, but do about 1-1.5 hours of cycling per 5 day week - and I eat good food rather than junk.
Mostly I think you need to find a solution that suits you and your lifestyle - most people stumble upon this through trial and error. For some it's al diet, for some it's the gym, for others team sports etc etc.
