Another Sydney Newbie!

Postby emztres » Wed Jan 17, 2007 3:40 pm

Hey guys,

Just intro'ing myself. 21 F from Sydney.. This site definitely sounds like the kind of site to join if you want to lose weight and need some good support, im looking forward to chatting with everybody ..
Well just like most of you, been on and off the many dreaded diets.. But for long time now i've realized that for me it's just a matter of healthy eating and consistent exercise. For a couple of weeks i'll go fine and the motivation just drops of the radar and i'm in trouble again. Getting back on the saddle seems to be quite a task for me. Well i used to be at a nice healthy weight of 60kgs, i'm SOME of the blame on the pill. But it's been years since i came off it and i've never been able to get back to that healthy weight. Now i'm currently at my highest which is 88kgs. It's not a great feeling seeing that ticker go up as you're all probably familiar with too. So i have to do something about it quick smart and hopefully i won't have to do it by myself again now that i'm here.. Well that's my sob story for you hehe.

While i'm here can i ask if there's any chance that anyone in Western Sydney(Penrith area) that would like or needs a Weight Loss Buddy/Exercise Buddy ? I'm looking for one myself so if you're up for it please let me know! :)

Catch you all later

- Emz

Hello Emz and welcome to the forum.

Oh I used to live in Silverdale not far from Penrith many years ago. Not now though as I am in Melbourne.

It's great that you have made the decision to be a healthier you. I started out aruond 85kgs and am now 58kgs or there abouts so it can definitely be done. There is plenty of info on the home page so be sure to check it all out if you haven't already. Plenty of challenges and friendly faces on here so jump in wherever you are comfy.

All the best on your weightloss journey. :D

Emz, I started on lite n easy then after 5 months and learning better eating habits including how much to eat  I went onto my own eating plan based on what they did and now I use calorieking to keep an eye on the calories. I am on maintenance but I still find I need to watch it as it is easy to think I can have whatever I like and that really isn't the case it is more about what I need.

Oh and plenty of exercise, get walking it is fantastic for you. Start out slowly if you haven't done much exercising in a while and build it up gently.

Good luck on your journey mate, we are all here for you!

welcome aboard Emz

you've found the right place for support and encouragement and information...I've only been here a few days myself but already have received all of these things...exactly what you need to help keep you motivated and on track
Cheers, Mary

If I could find a ticker for measurements it would say I'm on the way from a waist measurement of 134cm to one of 70cm (currently at 129cm)
