I'm a new one!!!

Postby jent » Sun Jan 21, 2007 4:35 am

Hey guys,
My name is Jennifer, I'm 21 yrs old, and engaged to married July 7, 2007!!! I have purchased my dress, and I got it a couple sizes too small!! :) Dumb?? We will see?!?!?
I have a small weight problem, and have had it all through middle and high school!! I have done weight watchers before and it worked, but I just put it all on again!! I want it gone and to STAY gone!!
I've been working out and eating right for about 3 weeks now, and I can only lose 1-2lbs a week!! Its driving me NUTS!! :x
I was hoping that something like this would help me to be more motivated, and not sneak snacks at work!! :) Its bad working at a restaurant and trying to diet!!
My Fiance is a member of a Sig forum, and LOVES it, so maybe I will find that here!!
I can't wait to get to know some of you!!!! :D

Jent you will get there - learn to say and big NO to the snacks (unless they are good ones lol) and drink water

to quote Kate

Water, water, water

Seriously though, 3 lb in 3 weeks is good going and slow and steady always wins the race :D
Every day I am getting thinner and thinner.....

Hi Jennifer and welcome to the forum.

Just remember the health and fitness professionals recommend 1-2lbs per week for weightloss so you should be proud if you are getting those results. It's a fantastic effort. Personally I found I averaged around 1.5lbs per week with some weeks higher and some weeks less. Don't give up though, it isn't an easy road but boy do you feel good when you see the weight coming off.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding you will look wonderful I am sure.

Feel free to join in wherever you feel comfortable. Oh and we use metric in Australia where most of us are so multiply our figures by 2.2 to work out lbs.

I wish you every success on your weightloss journey. :D

I got married at 21 too, and also bought my dress two sizes too small. The fittings will be a huge incentive ,go as often as possible, because as it starts to become a better fit, you'll feel wonderful about it.. thus giving you incentive to keep going.

Hey don't worry about it being an Aussie site, it just gives you an opportunity to see if we have any tips they're not hading out over there - twice the pool for help and support. LOL
