Ballywatches - I know that feeling, been there and sometimes I'm still there! Your mindset is important but in saying that, evaluating your previous attempts and the areas you struggled with the most is more valuable. Self awareness of your weaknesses can highlight areas that you didnt think you had a problem with but actually do. Maybe try tracking your food and portion sizes for one week as a goal and re evaluate your intake at the end of the week.
Whatever you do, dont view your past attempts as "giving up" - I treat mine as lessons learnt and focus on the next battle. What defines you is not the fall, its how well you rise after falling :)

I wish you all the very best xo

Hi Ange2587

Your overeating may just be a symptom of a more general problem.

Perhaps your problem is an overall inability to stay focused on a goal and apply personal discipline to reach it.

If your lack of self control extends to other areas of your life then I suspect attempts to fix overeating will continue to fail unless you attack the root cause. If you don't fundamentally change the way you think then you will continue to behave in the manner that made you fat and keeps you fat.

The Australian Weightloss Website has some good articles about forming new good habits such as self-control. Habits don't form overnight, they take time to form through constant practice of them. And most of the people here who have lost a lot of weight seem to have done that - changed the way they think about both themselves and food.

Although one or two articles touch on this, I think it's worth saying that it is possible to minimise your exposure to temptation. Make a shopping list for when you go shopping and stick to it. Prepare your meals instead of buying takeaway. Don't have junk food in the house. Use alternatives. Find hobbies to replace boredom that leads to snacking. Etc.

Hi Everyone

I am new here and wanted some advise, I recently read some literature about how Lotus Leaf Tea helps in weight loss, just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it?
