Hey everyone!! I'm another newbie!!

Postby 13words » Mon Mar 12, 2007 1:44 pm

Hey everyone! I'm 19 and a UNI student from Tasmania, have always been overweight and my wedding is on April 7th this year, so a bit less than 4 weeks away! I've already lost around 12 kgs, and I'm really hoping to weigh around 90 on the big day (and to fit into my beautiful dress!). I know most of you view it as unhealthy, but I'm aiming for a weight loss of around 2-3kgs per week! I only attend UNI 2 days per week, so I've made myself a healthy eating plan and a vigorous exercise schedule which seems to be working! I eat roughly 800 calories per day, which includes all my nutritional needs, and includes eating something every four hours to keep my metabolism in good order. I am trying to aim for around 3-4 hours of exercise on non Uni days and 2 hours on Uni days, which includes a variety of walking, resistance training, basic weights, skipping and cycling! I am drinking around 1.5 - 2L water per day and also taking centrum, fish oil and flaxseed oil supplements. So yeah, wish me luck!! 8)

I think everyone has their own journey to go on. We're all aiming for the same or very similar destinations but there are a multitude of paths to take us there and what's good for one person is not for another.

I hope that with the support, advice and encouragement you'll receive here, you'll pick up some tips and ideas for continuing your weightloss journey beyond your short-term goals and be able to lose more and maintain that loss in a safe and healthy way in the long-term :)

PS What are you studying?

Thanks for that milkyway. I'm studying Nursing, in my second year at the moment, with plans to go into either mental and psychiatric health or midwifery!
Yeah, my long-term goal is to be 80kgs! Once I get there I might want to go further, but for the moment I'd be happy around there!

Hi 13words and welcome! It's good to see another Tasmanian! Congrats on your impending wedding and I'm sure you will look stunning! Well done on your loss so far!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!
