Time to get on with it!

Postby mummifiedx5 » Mon Apr 09, 2007 10:53 am

Hi everyone, I'm Tina from the Illawarra area in NSW.

I'm married with 5 children aged 15, 14, 12, 7 and 5 weeks old. Previous to me falling pregnant with our newborn, I had lost 20kgs but still had about 25kg still to lose.

At the moment I'm not sure how much I weigh (my digital scales just died) but I'm keen to get back on track and lose this weight once and or all.

So my plan this week...get a new set of scales, set up a ticker for myself in my signature, and work out an exercise program for myself. I still need to go to my GP for my 6 week checkup and get the all clear to start exercising after having the bub.

Good luck to everyone on their weightloss missions. Looking forward to making some new friends and offering/receiving support :D

Hi Tina - congrats on the latest addition to your family. That's quite a spread from teenagers to new born and quite a handful I imagine! Your plan sounds excellent and I look forward to hearing about your progress.

Hi Tina and welcome to the forum!
Congrats on your previous weightloss! I'm sure that since you've done it before, you can do it again, and with 5 kids to run around after you'll be getting lots of incidental exercise!!!!!!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

Hey Tina, good luck with your journey!!!

You are a brave woman with 5 kids to raise, personally I want to bury a few of mine in the paddock at the moment and I only have 3 and the youngest is nearly 10!!
Every day I am getting thinner and thinner.....

Thanks for all the welcomes! :D I'm excited about getting back on track and going to the gym again. I had to stop quite early in the pregnancy due to some problems and the doctor advised me not to do too much so I ended up gaining a bit more than just baby weight

As for the comments re me being a mum to 5. Yep, they sure do keep me busy! When we first told everyone we were pregnant again, we were either told we were really silly or really brave... But they are great kids (most days!)

Hi Kate, It will be 6 weeks next week so I'll go and see my GP then so I will be taking it easy till she gives me the go ahead. I'm BFeeding too so I've read that I need to be careful so I don't have a negative affect on my supply.

hi tina sounds good, keep us posted i am sure you will lose the weight you want to lose. :) my mum had 6 kids and she knew people who would snigger and make nasty comments behind her back when she would fall pregnant with one of us because the first couple were pretty close together. she did a great job raising us though and wouldnt want any other woman as my mother :)
