hi everyone! :D

this is my first post ever on this forum and im not quite sure what to say. im a uni student from sydney and i have about 20kg to lose right now. that looks simpler in writing than it has been the last 3 years coz when i first had issues with my weight, i was probably underweight if anything. but unhealthy habits and a baaaad state of mind have led me to put on, what i call, my "emotional weight" very very VERY quickly.

long story short, im now more motivated than ever before to do this the right way and im hoping the advice of everyone here will help achieve my goals as quickly as possible!

HI pino whereabouts in sydney are you and how old are you?

welcome to the group i am sure you will lose the weight you would like to shed with much support and encouragement. stay determined and make some good choices and you will be fine :)

Welcome to the forum Pino.

20 kg is not as much as some people have to lose. Just think about it in smaller 5kg increments.

That's what I do.

My first goal is to get back into the 80's, then 85, then back in the 70's and so on.

Hello Pino and welcome to the forum.

I agree breaking your goal down to smaller goals can make it seem less overwhelming so maybe that can help. Take it a day at a time and don't give up, you can make it.

20 k sounds like a daunting number, doesn't it? I've got a bit more than 30 to lose after this baby's born, and I'm not sure I can get my head around the whole number!!

Just try and do as the others have suggested, and think of it in bits. And don't forget to do nice things for yourself when you reach your little goals Ü

Uni sucks for losing weight hey - I've just gone back and finding it hard. Look forward to seeing you on the forum!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).

thanks for the warm welcome everyone. ill be sure to keep u updated on my progress. i'm doing commerce/law and i completely agree that losing weight in uni is hell! after starting uni ive put on a lot of weight that i had lost. ah well thinking in terms of the 5kg blocks sounds like a great idea. now i need to work up the courage to actually weigh myself.. :?

hey pino i found that hard at the beginning- actually standing on the scales. i didnt really want to know what i weighed. however once u know at least that is a starting point for you. best wishes
