Hi

I am about 30 kilograms overweight and have discovered today that I actually am right on the border of being obese. I feel like crap. I look like crap. I can't stand it. I found and joined this site in the hope that I will find some support as well offer support to lose weight.
I dont feel too confident. 30 kilos feels like a hell of a lot of weight to lose but I really want to lose it.

I feel like big fatty boom bah.

Hope to meet some online friends on the battle against the bumbersome bulge!
:)

Hi Carla welcome to the forum :D
Have you clicked on the words Log In at the top right side of this page? this will help your name not appear as Guest each time you post on the forum (if you have, then it might just be that Scott our administrator hasn't processed your membership yet, being a weekend and all)

You did well with your ticker graph but you accidentally selected and copied the wrong code. When you've made your ticker graph, you will see several codes at the end, just select and copy the one written in bbCode, then paste it here.

I'm also obese. I recently decided to make a ticker graph that goes down 5kgs at a time, that way I might not feel the challenge is too impossible to reach.

If you wish you can also join our November Slimmer of the Month challenge, it's located on the Weigh In board or you can just click this link. http://www.weightloss.com.au/forum/view ... 85&start=0 Just write down what weight you were at the start of November.

Hi Carla and welcome to the group.

When I joined the group a few weeks ago I was also border line obese - and am now down to *overweight* - the group is a great support network.

Just set yourself small goals don't look at the long haul as it may not be as long as you perceive it to be. Set a ticker graph to lose say 5 kilo's and once there that is a magnificent goal - then re-arrange your ticker graph for the next 5 kilos?

We are here to support you - we are all doing the same thing. check out the True Stories section where you will see what other members are eating during the day..

Cheers
Maria

I don't know why I didn't think of this otherwise commonsense idea, to aim at losing only 5 kgs or so at a time. That feels much more do-able. So thanks for this, and for the tip on how to use ticker...

It is good to see your enthusiasm and committment. And warm welcomes.

3 kg is a loss to be proud of, no 'only' to it. Think of 3 x 1 kg tubs of margarine. It's quite a lot.
