a smack in the face

Postby 1402100 » Sun May 06, 2007 9:12 pm

hey all, my names wayne, im 17 and im starting a journey to loose 40 kg.
My favourite thing of all time to do is to go to the show every year and go on all the rides.
I decided it was time to do something about my weight when for the first time ever, my weight held me back.
Last night i went to the show as usual with all my friends
and for the first time ever i was denied entry to alot of the rides because i couldnt fit.
It was a huge smack in the face and made me realise i have to do something if i want to continue doing the things i enjoy.
I weighed myself about 2 hours ago and i came in at exactly 140kg
and by may 1st 2008 if not sooner i plan to be 100kg or less.

hey wayne there are a few other blokes on the forum too :) so you wont feel out of place. i can understand about how being overweight can affect the way you live your life. thanks for posting the photos i cant wait to see the photos of you at your goal weight. you are quite handsome and i am sure you will feel great on the inside when you reach your goal and you can do the things all your friends do. i lost weight last year and hated being a 21 year old (being chubby all my teen years too) and not being able to wear the lastest trendy clothes because they didnt come in my size or the fact that they looked damn nasty on me! best wishes :)

Hi Wayne and welcome to the forum.

It can be really hard to change old habits and if you try to change everything all at once, you're much more likely to fail. It takes lots of small little changes and lots of small little steps.

All the best for your weightloss journey :)

Hi Wayne and welcome! My goodness don't you look snazzy in those photos!! Good on you for stepping up to the challenge at 17yo. You have set yourself a goal which is achievable (at a bit over 1kg per week) so that's a great start!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

"Reach out and take control of what lands in your lap"
