Hello Everyone,

My name is Liz from Melbourne, I am 41 years old and after a little health scare have decided its time to lose A LOT of weight. Currently I dont even know what I weigh, my digital scale goes to 150kgs and when I step on it...... no recording... So lets say I am 155 to 160kgs.

I have always been overweight 8 years ago I was 132kgs but in the last 2 years have just added that extra weight that is causing problems. Even though I was overweight I never had any health problems, I was walking alot but no other types of excerises. Now I dont even walk. I will start walking again and go from there.

My weight loss plan isnt really a plan, I will just start by reducing my meals, my main problem being dinner and after dinner snacks. During the day I eat well.

Hope you guys can help me through this.

welcome to the forum! I myself have struggled with my weight my entire life. My highest weight was 149.9kgs a few years back and I am currently sitting on 122kgs (although have gotten lower but slackened off). You will find a lot of inspiration and encouragment here. I have been a member for two weeks and the advice I have gotten so far has been invaluable. I love it here and come in every day even just to read.

Welcome Liz. You have admitted to yourself that you need to lose weight and that is the most important step. Keep going and don't give up.

Oh, and welcome :D

I've been around a while but don't post to often but definitely agree bubblebutt. 'Tis a great place around here.

hey there liz

welcome to the group. its doesnt matter how much you have to lose when you are on this forum the fact is that we are all here to support you and know what you are going through. we will try our best to be there for you when the times are tough. sounds like you have made some great decisions - reducing portion sizes and snacks. what a great start. remember to start making smaller changes and they lead to bigger things.
