I have never posted before on a forum, but am struggling so badly with my weight that I think the support that is shown here may help me. I am 34 weigh 98 kgs and am 5ft 9. I have had fluctuating weight for as long as I can remember but I usually never weighed more than 65kg and at my smallest I was 53kg. I dramatically gained weight when I gave up smoking (and was experiencing a major crisis in my life) 7 years ago and then more and more crept on. I dont want to pass the dreaded 100kg mark and know that the older I get the harder it will be.

I am going to lose 30-35 kg, but am aiming for mini goals of 7kg so that I can stay motivated. I am going to journal not only my food and exercise but my feelings as well. I am excited about this new chapter in my life. :D

Hello and welcome to the forum :)

I stacked on a few kgs when I quit smoking years ago. I've been a yo-yo weight gain/loss person for the past decade. This time the weight is coming off quite slowly and I've made some lifestyle changes over the past few months - nothing too dramatic.

I look forward to hearing about your progress :)

Hello Taradog and welcome to the forum.

Mini goals are a great way to keep you going as the overall can be so daunting. We have exercise and food diary threads on here as well as the personal progress thread so feel free to join in wherever you are comfy.

Congratulations on taking that first giant's always the hardest. That's great that you're setting mini-goals....don't forget to pamper yourself each time you achieve your goals!
