weight loss while breastfeeding

I am trying to lose weight and am also breastfeeding has anybody got any information in relation to this as nothing seems to be working at the moment

Hi Japple,
I think it's important that you don't diet whilst breastfeeding your baby.
You can eat really healthily though and you can increase your levels of activity, even if it is only walking every day with your stroller. One kilometre of brisk walking will burn around 100 extra calories so just doing more exercise will help you towards regaining your shape.
Of course giving up the high cal foods such as soda, butter, biscuits, cakes, burgers, pizza, chocolate and fries goes without saying right?

Breastfeeding uses up about 2000-2400kj a day (average 4 month old), so if you are eating healthily that should create enough defecit to help you with losing wieght. Delay introducing solids until 6 months (recommended by World Health Org) as this decreases your milk and therefore your kilojoule burning!
Breast feeding is the best way to help lose excess baby fat, I was devastated I couldn't with my baby for this reason! :cry:

Being sure to eat healthily will also make sure that there are all the best vitamins and minerals making it in to the milk supply for bubs too.
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
