New Year Resolution

Postby lindylou » Fri Jan 06, 2006 12:48 pm

Hi everyone, I'm another newbie here - and hoping this will be the year that I shed the extra kilos !!
I have 3 boys between 15 & 24 (so definately can't say that the baby fat has hung around), but have got so tired of not doing stuff anymore.
And today I got an invite to head back to Weight Watchers - I'm even on their personal mailing list.

Hi Lyn,

Good on you for making such a healthy commitment! Just make sure you don't overwhelm yourself and take it one small step at a time. There are plenty of resources here that may help you, either in conjunction with WW or by themselves!! So go ahead and reach your goal, I look forward to seeing you around the boards.

35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

"You can't change the winds, but you can change the sails"

"Reach out and take control of what lands in your lap"

Hi Lyn, welcome to the weightloss forum.
Slowly but surely you will lose this weight.
I've tried so many diet clubs, diets and diet books, eDiets, Easy Slim, Weight Watchers (on and off) and even had my meals delivered by lite n' easy (they all made me gain weight because I have a condition called hypothyroidism) but since joining the Weightloss forum and have listened to the various experiences people have had, I have finally managed to shed some weight.
The forums food diary is also a major plus for me.

Welcome Lyn,

You'll definitely lose weight with the support of everyone at the forum combined with WW.

I've done WW a couple of times, great program (when you follow it - my problem!) because it teaches you a lifestyle change and helps you with maintenance when you reach your goal.

Ask as many questions as you like, and never be embarrassed  - nobody will judge you, it's more likely that quite a few of us have experienced the same thing.

Good luck on your weightloss journey

Thanks everyone for your replies - I feel so welcomed.
I have read somewhere else too, that each of us should consider that today is the first day of the rest of our lives, and to forget the mistakes we have made in getting this far :D
I look forward to meeting more of you through the forums.

Hi Lyn and welcome.

You're absolutely right - I love that comment about today being the first day of the rest of our lives! We should look at it like that.

My sister-in-law leaves today, so tomorrow will be the first day of the rest of my life and I can't wait to shed 23kg. If I lose motivation, I just try to think back to before I had this extra weight and I remember just how good I felt and how much better I looked. I am determined to be there again!

Best wishes and I'm sure you'll achieve your weight loss goals with the support of all of us here.
