Newbie looking for a diet buddy START TODAY: Sep 16th

Hi there,

I am on a weight loss quest and Im inviting you to join me.

I currently weigh 78kgs and am looking to lose around 25kgs.

I have been a serious yoyo dieter for years and its time to make some changes.

I have a terrible track record of sticking with a diet plan, usually caving in after a few days.

Have you had the same problem?

I am determined not to let another year pass as an overweight person.

Join me and we provide support & encouragement for each other.

The more the merrier! :D

Hello pandabear and welcome to the group.

I am on maintenance so not much help for the buddy side but you should be able to find others to help with that. We can all offer plenty of support and motivation.

All the best on your journey. :D

Good Morning!

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated!

KimE - Congrats on getting to the maintenance phase. Best of luck!

Lisa - It would be great to have a buddy. Need some support that I dont really get at home.

Yep. Started my diet plan yesterday and even went for a walk in the park to get the body moving.

Didnt weigh myself yesterday before I started but my guess was about 78kg. Weighed myself this morning and I am now 77.5kg. I really want to get past the 74kg mark where I always seem to give up and sabotage myself and then put back on what I just lost.

I have a wedding to go to in 2 months time and I want to look and feel faboulous........not frumpy.

How are you guys doing? What diet plan are you on?

Hi pandabear and welcome to the forum! I'm currently at 79kg and aiming to get down to 70, maybe 65kg which would put me in the size 10-12 bracket. I've already lost 30kg (well, 35, but I've backslid 4kg recently) and I did it through good old fashioned eating better and exercising more. Al the best with your weight loss
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

Hi everyone.

Butterfly Dawn. Thanks for your encouragement. Wow you have lost a LOT. You must feel fantastic!

I went for a walk again yesterday. It was so nice being out in the sunshine and fresh air.

My man and I both love to eat and we eat dinner in restuarants a lot. Love calamari & ceaser salad :) So I am now resisting my mans suggestions on going out for dinner and I did a big grocery shop and stocked the fridge with lots of fruit & veg.

My next goal is to learn how to prepare meals that are not only healthy & yummy but also meals that we both like. Its going to be a challenge as we are from different backgrounds and we have very different tastes.

Hope everyone is happy & healthy today.

Okay so I had a pity party for myself and all my old friends came.....

Anger, blame, resentment & procrastination.

You will be happy to hear that I have sent them packing and have invited new friends to join me.......

Motivation, determination & a no excuse attitude.

I am starting again with a whole new outlook.

Butterfly - Absolutely you can join in. The more the merrier. Welcome.

I have been swamped with uni work but would like to hear how everyone is going.

I'll try & post everyday if I can and update my ticker accordingly.

Hope everyone is happy and healthy! :)

Hello everyone.

Im feeling great today.

I refused a bowl of pasta last night (even though my man was really pushing me to have some) and ate some salad & beans instead. :)

Havent done much walking or other exercise due to really yucky weather. Does anyone have any good suggestions for indoor exercise for when the weather isnt great??

Havent weighed myself today. I think I will give it a couple of days, or maybe even just weigh myself once a week.

How is everyone going?

Hope everyone is happy & healthy

exercise dvds are great fun! they can be inexpensive too- check out ebay! and are great to have on hand for the rainy weather. you might also be able to buy yourself a gym ball that comes with a dvd so you can do a workout on that. im having a great day thanks for asking! hope you have a lovely weekend :) and well done for refusing the pasta!

Hey Panda and welcome to the forum.

I think weighing yourself weekly (same time, same scales) is the best idea, that way you don't get too excited (or depressed) about the daily fluctuations.

All the best for your journey. Why not start a progress page under the 'Personal Progress' forum? You can keep track of your progress over there as often as you like and don't have to feel like a newbie anymore by always dropping by the intro forum :)
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...
