Hey Jade :D

Welcome!!! Glad to hear you have recovered from your illness!

I am just going to talk about what has worked for me and my exprience...it may or not be applicable for you......

Exercise alone does not work for me, I also have to look at my diet. Hence, I calorie count....... I am on 1,200 calories per day (this is the lowest a woman can go) and I have 8kgs to lose before I reach goal weight.

Weight loss was quick at the start ....... I lost 3kgs in the first week and then 0.5 - 1 kg there after.

I also exercise, drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, take a multivitamin tablet and a Fish Oil Tablet (yes..... someone from here told me they have calories) but are really good for your health.

I include a 100 to 150 calorie treat or snack eat day....I may have a small piece of chocolate or a Milky Way for 112 calories per bar. This way I don't feel like I am depriving myself. I just keep reminding myself that I can have another small piece of chocolate tomorrow and I never have chocolate in the house. I keep diet jelly in the fridge too.....so if I just need something sweet then I can have that and it's low in calories.

If you like the idea of calories, just find a website that will help you work out the number of calories you should consume to lose the 5 kgs that you put on.

Other people here may have other suggestions if you don't like the idea of calorie counting.

See you around the boards! I look forward to reading your successful weight loss story.

Have a great day

Cheers

Michelle :D

Hi Jade and welcome!
I'm a chocaholic too and recently I bame it for a bit of backsliding. I have now gone back to myoriginal plan. The only chocolate i will allow myself is very dark choc (80% - I used to hate it, but I like it now, and it's much better for you) or plain cocoa with hot water and a bit of milk, no sugar. Tat gives me the choccie fix without tons of sugar and milk fats
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!
