Hi all,
Just wanted to say a quick hello, and introduce myself to all you people who are inspiring me to do something about my weight. I think it's great that something like this forum exists, to share tips and provide support.
I'm your typical yo-yo dieter - I did manage to lose a chunk of weight, but then gained it all back with interest.
I've got a long way to go, with my long-term goal being to lose 50 kilos, but I've made a start right now - today will be the dreaded first day of my weight-loss war! Good luck to all other newbies, and to all those who are a WIP - I salute you.

hey rissa welcome to the group

best wishes for your weightloss. looking forward to reading your progress, maybe you can head to the curvaceous and courageous section and start your own progress thread there? 50kg you can definately achieve with hard work support and determination. you can always break it up into smaller goals like 5kg at a time and then reward yourself with something not food related when you reach each of those 5kgs. just a thought :)

Don't dread it! You are beginning a new healthy life where you will be fitter, healthier, and more in control of your health! That's a great thing! Sure, it will be a struggle, but with all challenges there is the opportunity for growth and learning!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

I'm only a newbie as well and so far I've found this site great and very supportive.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.
I've already made a start, with a posting in the curvaceous and courageous section with my mini-goal of losing 5kg to start off with. I'd love to hear about how you are all doing with your goals.
Lauren - you are so on your way with your goal! That the kind of thing I love to hear about - keep up the amazing work! Feel free to give me a nudge with any info/probs you are having. 8) The same goes for everyone here. See you around the boards.
