i did heaps of walking while i was on holiday - the biggest day was 20.6km & i reckon we would have averaged about 8-10km per day. it was only sightseeing walking - i.e. not serious hill climbs or bushwalking or anything - but i did feel far better for it. since i got back i haven't been for a walk at all.

i wore my pedometer yesterday (i really wish i'd taken it with me!) and i got to 4100 - this was just my daily activity at work, no exercise (damn desk job).

my challenge/pledge is to get to 10,000 steps each day for the rest of this week (up to & including friday).

it's only a 4 day pledge at the moment - but i'd like to give myself a small reward if i meet my goal. any thoughts/suggestions?

Umm.. maybe like a nice pair of earrings or some not expensive but nice jewellry? Or a CD or something?

Good luck Sassi! I did a pedometer challenge a while back (the global corporate challenge, 4 months!). I found walking at lunchtime bumped up the steps a bit. About 4500 for a half hour walk. Add that to the 4000 that you get around the office, and you're nearly there :D

so close, but so far! bit annoyed at myself for choosing to sit on the couch and watch the sydney vs la galaxy soccer match! it meant that we didn't go out for a walk till 10.10 and it could really only be a short one. i did manage to be just over 5000 when i got home from work - had a couple of meetings at opposite ends of the campus!

wednesday: stopped wearing my pedometer after work because we had a family dinner, but a conservative guess is: 6500

no walk in the evening made a big difference, at least i was relatively active at work - was over 5500 when i got home. today i have a training course and so will be stuck sitting in front of a pc all day. :(

thank goodness! i finally made it :wink:

i'd only done 3500 when i got home from work but we went for a longish walk after dinner.

now i just need to keep it over the 10km each day :)

weeell....work actually doesn't seem as bad as when i went away, so that's making me happy! i think i just have my perspective back!!
