Today I pledge to do my basic workout

30 minute walk
25 push ups
25 wall squats
10 min upper body workout.

Didn't pledge anything for yesterday as Fridays & Sundays are my days off from exercising. Im really going to push it today considering I didnt get time to workout on Thursday night due to my girlfriend popping in.

All but the walk completed ! Damn rain :P

All but the squats & step ups done.

I did however throw in 2 tricep dips ;)

5/7 is pretty good - aiming for 6 tomorrow I assume? ;)

You can lose fitness quickly.. it's a good motivator to keep going with the exercise I think! Tell yourself that the more days you have off, the harder it is to get it back - and you don't want to go backwards because you are doing so well!!

Although I was more unfit, I didnt stop once during the 2 mile WATP which usually gets me. However, I could feel myself pumping that air out of me like I was running a marathon.

You're absolutely right about the more days off the more harder it is to get back into it. Just had to jump back on the wagon, couldnt stay away any longer, it was like going cold turkey by getting back into it :D

I felt the same last week after 5 weeks off the gym! But you pick it back up quicker than you otherwise would have, and you're all back on track now :)

Hi Helen - congrats on getting back on the wagon (so to speak). I know what you mean about dropping fitness so quickly - I did cardio with my PT at the gym on Mon and it nearly killed me, getting back into hockey will be rather embarrassing for the first few weeks!

My PT told me that we lose fitness first, flexibility second and muscle strength/mass last. So when we're having a break etc we should try to maintain some level of fitness, but not to worry too much about doing weights cause the strength pretty much remains for ages. Weird huh?
Cheers,
Kate
