My weakness: binging at parties

Postby Kimmie » Sun Feb 03, 2008 12:30 pm

I'm going to a BBQ tonight, and I pledge that:

- I will *not* binge,
- I will *not* eat any chips or junk food,
- I will *not* over eat (even healthy food),
- I will have a healthy dinner, despite being out and in an environment where everyone else is stuffing their face! (half of them are teenagers, most of them are boys, with their enviable metabolism lol)

Wish me luck! I will report back tonight. :)

That used to be my biggest weakness. I'd go out to parties and see all the food there and just gorge myself. It was actually kind of embarassing, while normal people had stopped eating ages before, I was still going!! Trying to find ways to sneak back past the evil M&M bowl!!!

Good luck on the pledge :)

Good luck, you can do it :D

How about taking some soy sausages? Low in carbs and pretty tasty. You could always take along some rice crackers and the 80% less fat philli dips?

Thanks, guys! This is awesome, having people cheering me on! (My first pledge) I *totally* get that damn M&M bowl...

Well, I was successful! I actually took kangaroo sausages, since they are insanely low in fat (and cheap! and tasty! very recommended!!!). I also took salad, grapes (which the girls at the BBQ were very grateful for!), and a packet of chips left over from our NYE party -- thank goodness it's finally out of the house!

There were lots of chips, and chocolate! Which was very hard to pass up, but I did. 8)

Well done Kimmie! I'm so proud of you, so you must feel so incredibly proud of yourself! What do the roo sausages taste like?

They taste like red, gamey meat. Very nice! If you like steak, I would also recommend roo steak done rare to med rare. They are so tender and tasty! The sausages are only 1% fat, the steak and mince are even less, I think. I worked out that eat roo sausage is about 1.5 WW points, if you subscribe to that (which I do, I find it a bit easier than calorie counting).

Oh, I also forgot to mention that eating roo is better for the Australian environment than eating other farmed animals which have a heavier impact on our countryside. Plus they are a pest -- they don't even *need* to be farmed! So there's really no down side.
