No snooze button for a week

Postby EvilWombatQueen » Fri Feb 08, 2008 10:21 am

For those of us addicted to a nice lie in how about the challenge of no snooze button for a week!

I've been trying to schedule exercise first thing in the morning, but my days seem to be getting off to a slower and slower start with my habit of sleeping in. So I'm going to ban my snooze button for a week. Who's with me? :)

No point on this one for me because if i dont get out of bed when my alarm goes off, my partner knees me till i do!

On a practical note, maybe you could try moving your alarm to across the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off?? :D

I think I'm going to have to do that, Shel! I love snoozing far too much and I'd probably hit the button without thinking otherwise.

I thought I'd feel great now...but I'm ready for a nana nap already  !! Hahaha!!

I actually managed it as well! I took Shel's advice and put my alarm clock on the other side of the room, forcing me out of bed when it went off. It's a lucky thing I did too! I'd woken from such a great dream (that I can't remember for the life of me now) and my bed was so comfy I know I wouldn't have had the willpower to manage it otherwise!

Alarm went off at 8.00am and I was at the gym at 9.00am. Let's see if I can make a habit of this!

My hours are fairly flexible since I'm writing a thesis. It's the one really good thing about doing my doctorate! Provided I get my word-count done each fortnight my supervisor doesn't really care if I start at 9am, 11am or 3pm. If it makes you feel any better I usually end up working on weekends to make up for my late starts during the week  ! And on gym days there's no point in me getting up any earlier. The local PCYC doesn't open until 9am anway. :(

I managed to get up on time again today. 7am wake-up and jogging at 8.30am.

Woo hoo! Yet another successful day. I think my body is getting used to the new routine. I actually woke up half an hour before the alarm went off and debated whether to get up early or not (for the record I decided to stay in bed until the alarm. I figure the challenge is to get up when the alarm goes off, not half an hour beforehand, so I didn't break the rules!)

HHHmmm....I technically didn't break the rules either...I reset the alarm!!

I've just been SO tired (amd grumpy....my poor bf) that I felt like my legs were made of wood and just could not move....

I WILL get up tomorrow morning though....

I've been doing this too but not posting because I've not had time to update. Mon and Tues I woke up not long before the alarm went off (yay!) so got up OK but today I had a snooze, but just one... (usually two or more)
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...
