Fionas double weekly pledge!

Postby Fiona25 » Sat Mar 01, 2008 9:14 am

Ok...I want to make 2 pledges this week.

I've been exercising everyday but I don't think i've been doing enough. So for this week I pledge to do AT LEAST 90mins exercise a day. Thursday and Friday I work all day on my feet so those days I will cut myself some slack and will do at least 60mins.

The second part of my pledge will be by FAR the hardest.

That is to NOT TOUCH THE SCALES UNTIL NEXT SUNDAY

I know i'm supposed to be weighing in tomorrow but if you have a look at my post in weight loss talk, you will see why i'm skipping yet another weigh in. I think the no scales rule will help me keep on track in the long run, a bad weigh in will see me lose motivation I think.

So I will report in every day saying i've done my 90mins and haven't touched the scales - HOPEFULLY!

I normally weigh myself 3-4 x a day so this is going to be incredibly hard for me.

I will report back this arvo. I did weigh this morning but no more weighing today.

Good on ya Fi.

You don't need those scales to justify all the hard work you are doing.

You know you are doing the right thing for your body by exercising daily and sticking within your calorie limits.

I think you are using your daily weighing to seek approval and congratulations of sorts for all the good things you have been doing?

Don't. Use your food and exercise dairy and KNOWING within yourself that you did all you could that day (remember one day at a time) to do what's needed to lose weight.

You can do it and if you find yourself wanting to sneak peaks get hubby to hide them for you :D

No more weighing, no more scales. My measurement is my success at health. It's an investment I make every single day. My priority: be healthy!

Good work mate, you'll do great, and it really will help not weighing your self everyday. :)

Thanks girls! Yep, Bella I think I am using the daily weigh ins to confirm to myself that what I am doing is or isn't working. Its no way to live is it? I will see what this week brings.

Ok. so today I rocked it :D

EXERCISE

40min walk (broken up in 1 30min 1 10min)

30 min dance yourself thin DVD but jogging on the spot for 1/2 of it while they were walking just for extra calories burnt!

10 min x trainer. Now I SWEAR my x trainer is way harder than the one at the gym

20 min circuit of skipping, leg magic, push ups, ab work, punching, kicking etc

20 min horse ride.

All up 2 hours! I'm stoked with that.

As for the weighing, I haven't gone near the scales since this morning. I will post if I fail with that today but i'm very confident I won't go near them, I don't want to know so thats a pretty good incentive to keep them hidden I think ;)

Thanks again for your support and advice, you girls are the best *hugs*

This morning I got up half asleep, went to the loo then into the bathroom for my usual weigh in. I even got the scales out of the cupboard without thinking, then literally a second before I got on it dawned on me 'i'm not allowed to do this!!' I stood there for a few minutes thinking up excuses to weigh myself (even though its only been a day the suspension is killing me!).

BUT

I didn't do it :D I put the scales back in the cupboard and went back to bed for 20 minutes.

Feeling proud of myself, this is a real milestone for me!

Well done, that's awesome. I too struggle to stay away from the scales so totally understand how hard it is.

Day 3 - SUCCESSFUL :D

EXERCISE

70 min walk (broken up into 2 walks)

30 mins at the gym - 10 mins jogging on the treadmill @ 9.5kph, 10 mins x trainer, 5 mins rower, 5 mins exercise bike. I wanted to jog for 20 on the treadmill but did the other equipment while waiting for the TR hoggers to get off, then by that time I only had time for 10 mins :x

Forgot to add, no weighing!

I have barely been tempted to get on the scales today. I keep telling myself that come Sunday it will be worth it...well, it had better be

Well done! Are you feeling better for not jumping on the scales?

I'm tempted to do the same things....they do my head in...

Ali i'm feeling HEAPS better. Reasons are:

1. Not constantly worrying

2. Not having a great morning weigh in then letting my guard down that day

3. Not being upset and in a foul mood if I get a bad reading

Oh, and hubby commented last night that I haven't been grumpy the last few days

OK, right...I'm going to weigh in tomorrow (might not post the result though  ) and then I'm going to pack my scales away so I can't get to them until I move house (next week is TTOM and by the next weigh in we'll be in the new house!!!).

God...this is going to be almost as hard as my no-snooze button challenge with EWQ!

Day 5 SUCCESSFUL :D

EXERCISE

1 hour walk

20 min horse ride

45 min body pump class.

I woke up this morning somewhat sore from yesterday. The squats I had to endure in the body pump class will have me in agony tomorrow morning I think! None the less, i'm still going to push on and do my morning martial arts class before work tomorrow morning.

I've decided that Friday I will not exercise. My body will need a day off I think. I'll be at work moving around all day and on my feet but I won't do any purpose exercise.

Still haven't gone near the scales today or yesterday (forgot to add that in yesterdays post)

So all up today 2hrs 5mins exercise and just over 600 calories that i'll never see again :D

Feeling very buggered. My agenda for tonight is dinner by 7pm, TBL, herbal tea and net time, shower, massage with muscle gel then off to bed to sleep like a baby!
