pledge when eating out

Postby deany » Sun Feb 01, 2009 9:27 am

well today I have to face going to a restaurant for lunch for the 1st time since I started my weight loss journey and I'm scared  so my pledge is to stay away from the foods I would normally order and try to find a nice healthy salad on the menu. oh please God don't let me cave and order the yummy creamy pasta lol

Just remember if your going out once in a blue moon then you let yourself enjoy the meal- one meal that is higher in fat is not going to affect your overall weight loss. But thats not to say you should order the fattiest foods and eat way to much- you still need to chose wisely but dont force yourself to sit there eating a boring salad while everyone else is having a big meal. So if you want pasta, maybe have an entre size, chose a tomato based pasta, have it with some salad to bulk it up.
If you were going out regually then its a different story- then you should be chosing the salad items ect.

If this is a lifestyle change for you (which it should be) then there will always be times when your going out for a meal so you need to learn how to cope and enjoy yourself.

well i was sorta good and sorta bad
i held myself back to just a couple of mouthfuls of the tapas that was brought out but ordered salt and pepper squid with a char grilled pineapple salad, the down fall being the squid is deep fried plus even tho it didn't say it on the menu chips were included and hot chips is 1 of my biggest weaknesses and coz they were there i ate them :x
i'm going to the same restaurant again in a fortnight for a hens day lunch so hopefully i'll make a wiser choice then

CONGRATULATIONS for being a trooper!!!
