Ok, here goes, my first pledge which will have two elements.

I will not eat biscuits for the whole weekend. The lovely pink and pastel blue tin I put them in for the kids is a deception to make me believe they are anything other than my enemy. My coffee will not be BFF with biscuits.

I will go out for a 5klm walk early both Sat and Sun, despite the fact that my family (and visitor) will probably sleep in. This has been an issue for me in the past as I have felt ripped off if I have to get up early to exercise only to find that later in the day there never seems to ge a good time for me to go. So I think if I am to find time for myself this may have to be the case and I will reap the rewards of better health.

Yippee! I managed to ignore the biscuits all weekend and go for the two walks.

Tomorrow and as many days as is necessary this week I pledge to exercise on the stationary bike. I will not be able to leave the house alone as I'm looking after the children and an elderly father-in-law but this will not be an excuse to not exercise.

I will ride for 45mins or 15klms, whichever comes first.

Well done...have you decided what to do to reward yourself when you reach your mini-goals?

Funny I wrote that because as I was typing it I was thinking "and what are you rewarding yourself with?" Hmmm something to think about, eh?

Reward? Wow, it never even entered my mind to reward myself to achieve mini goals or even the ultimate goal! I'm still thinking about it.

What do you reward yourself with?

That is something I really need to think about because my reward has always been food before.

Clothes? No..I still have all my "going up" clothes to get back into and dont feel happy enough with what I've done to preen yet

A piece of costume jewellery? That's it!

Once I've said goodbye to the 90's I'll make a specific point of going out and buying a "different" piece :)

You sure have a point here, I did think of biscuits first up until I realised that would not be appropriate!

Your costume piece sounds great, once I have decided I think I'll add it to my signature.

Cycling at home is going good, decided not to stop after 15klm as it only took 36mins so I kept going for 45mins.

Well done for getting through the weekend!!! Biscuits were a fav of mine as well, at work they would supply us with lots of yummy arnotts biscuits and I would take that opportunity... Safe to say, I made a pledge not to eat them and I can't even remember the last time I ate one. Other than with my cheese and crackers, but that's a treat (so kinda different).

Oh and yeah, don't forget to reward yourself, some other ideas could include a new hairstyle, a massage, getting your nails done... etc... I like all those things but are now a rareity, so def are becoming my rewards!

Thanks for your ideas for rewards, all sounded great. It's encouraging to know you can't even remember the last time you ate a biscuit, I hope to be there soon.

This week I continue the biscuit detox, will keep up the exercise plan and will not eat after 8pm.
