Another great result Helen.
Wow girl...you know your stuff or what? 6.8kg in two weeks!
You must be working so very hard at it. 8)
Awesome! Keep it up! :D

We can all relate to what JP is going through.
We all have put huge expectations on ourselves at times that end up pushing us down instead of propelling us forward.
We must learn to do what we can do today and let tomorrow take care of itself.

My demise is greatly exaggerated ;) OK so I've fallen off the wagon since July and can quite get back on.. But I'm hanging in there honestly.. Been on about 4/5 hour walks the last few weeks and have eaten mostly decently, no all out binges on crap stuff etc, few too many beers than I should if I am serious about this..

My problem is lack of motivation and the fact I am away for 5 weeks in 6 weeks time.. I'm mentally already on that plane and my internal systems are already factoring in a new start in Jan when I am back..

I mentioned this to Helen yesterday that I'd love to be where I am now when I get back so the plan is to just tighten up what I'm doing now, lose 4/5 Kgs before I go away and have that buffer.. Hopefully not go berserk while away and be sub 100 Kgs mid Jan and get back into it in 2015..

Meanwhile I will be still around here regularly gee'ing Els on, she is going great guns, at this rate she'll be catching me go Helen.. 8)

Oh and I've mentioned it before, weight loss is only one aspect of my life and believe me there are many threads on planet JP.. Yeah I'm disappointed at myself but I'm really not beating myself up about it, it's just another thread where I'm not quite meeting my own high expectations in life, most the rest of those threads are running smoothly and planet JP is a great place to live ;)

Glad to hear that all is (nearly) well on planet JP! :D

I think your lack of motivation may be linked to a lack of urgency.
In the back of your head you are thinking that you are going away in a few weeks time; that the major damage is done...
so keep it in a holding pattern and make the supreme effort when you get back.
There is no sense of urgency in that weight loss proposition. :(

Each day you press forward and give it 100% of your abilities is one day closer to success.
None of us are guaranteed tomorrow...so make today count!

God knows I wasted decades of my life doing absolutely nothing about my weight.
My one big regret is that I hadn't got dinkum about losing weight - and done something about it years ago.
I don't want you to feel that way either.

SNAP!!! :D IF ONLY.....

Although I am still a way off from goal, I'm closer than I have been in years, and like you Kim my only regret is that I didn't get serious about losing weight until now. So many years wasted, trapped in a body that was riddled with physical pain and a heart filled with self loathing as a result of how I looked and felt.

I know that going on holidays it's hard to stay motivated, and the temptation to just throw caution to the wind; to eat, drink and be merry is too alluring but trust me, you'll come back and that temporary holiday high will be replaced by guilt and disgust in yourself, and I sooooooo don't want that for you. But holidays don't have to be completely filled with lettuce leaves and carrot sticks to be enjoyed, you can still have your favourites, even the odd drink or two, just keep things in moderation and whenever you can, keep up your walks (which I know you tend to do when you're on track anyway).

JP you're not as old as me, and so from a (not-so-wise ol' duck) if there is JUST ONE piece of advice that I could impart on you it would this, DON'T PUT IT OFF!!! You don't want to enter your 50s overweight and miserable. You owe it to yourself to be happy and healthy enough to a full life!!!

It's not much fun recording a gain number but use it as a spur to do better next week and not a whip to beat yourself down. :)
The bottom line is that you are still 6.5 kilos lighter than when you began the challenge.
Draw the wagons around it - defend it and see if you can get some ground back.

You posted two massive weeks in a row that was bound to stretch you out for this week.
Remember weight loss is more of a marathon rather than a sprint.
You may want to try pacing it a bit so that your body can cope with the demands you are putting on it.

Regroup - figure the weakness - develop strategies to deal with it and continuing playing your strengths. :D

Looking forward to see what cool number you will bring to the table next week. 8)

Hey GI, don't let it get you down; this is probably attributed to muscle build up. As you've been back into the boot camps etc, that activity will have help develop new muscle and as such, a weight gain is bound to appear at some point.

My weight fluctuates so much I feel like I'm on a roller coaster sometimes. Most times I know why (eg. if I've had a little "something" I shouldn't have) but it's times when I've ticked all the RIGHT boxes, eaten healthy and exercised hard only to have a gain, that's when I get peeved. BUT....it all comes out in the wash....e-v-e-n-t-u-a-l-l-y!!!

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll see a good loss next week; just don't let it deflate your enthusiasm, and push forward!! :D You can rise above this small glitc; I know you can, and you'll be victorious next week!!! Just wait and see!! :D
