He is just gorgeous!! I agree Kim, he has some beautiful marking on him!!

What a wasteful throw away society we live in!!! Sorry but that just gets my hackles up about them being put down because they have "served their purpose"....I am glad that a program like that is in place, so decent animal lovers can give these dogs a good home!! Good on you mate for doing the digging and finding out about the greyhounds!! We have people that live opposite us and they have 2 that are kept in sheds in the back yard ALL the time except when they exercise them on the treadmill in the backyard and take them to the races  .

Ally that sounds so cruel, your neighbours should be reported to RSPCA. I can't believe people can subject animals to that. Poor doggies.

Oh Ally that is awful. And they're such sensitive creatures :(
Because they have no body fat, they really feel the heat and the cold and their feelings are easily hurt if you yell, scold or ignore them.

I don't know so much if they are ill treating the dogs as such, you never hear anything from them, but I just think it is really sad that they don't even seem to play with them or anything, I mean what dog doesn't love a cuddle and a bit of playtime???

On day 4 now and doing fine (apart from the bottle of wine guzzled solo last night) on the sugar cravings front. I even went into a chocolate shop this afternoon with my sister but wasn't tempted to buy anything. It sure smelt good though 8)

I went to a seminar today and upon arrival, we were offered tea, coffee and the most wonderful array of HUGE pastries. I looked for a healthy alternative but there wasn't one, so declined.

Then at afternoon tea, they brought out these massive jam and chocolate filled sugar-coated donuts and again I resisted. yay me!

Week one down and going strong 8)

No I didn't bring any snacks with me, just 2 water bottles - I was hungry too because the seminar started at my usual lunch time. So that was my punishment for not being more organised :P

I had a late lunch when I got home around 4pm. Fortunately it doesn't take much to fill me up these days, as I was ravenous.

Well, I made it through the 2 weeks with absolutely no sugary treats - no lollies, chocolate, cakes, biscuits or other sugar laden foods. :D

I'm not about to race out and have a block of chocolate, a custard scroll and some anzac biscuits... but it's nice to know I've slain the sugar monster and can now have the occassional sweet indulgence, in moderation of course.

I just hope the sugar monster remains slain at the end of the month when it's pre TTOTM cos that's when it usually comes out with avengence.
