Need to do it

Postby endoftheworld » Fri Mar 30, 2007 8:56 pm

I do a lot of excersie, but at the same time i eat A LOT of bad food, I think that may be why my weight is stable but too high at the moment.

For example, if i see my mum or dad has bought a pack of 4 ice-creams of some chips or something, I won't just have 1, I have 2, sometimes even 3!

For the next 4 weeks I pledge not to eat any more junk food.

Wow, this is an issue I know all too well. I have found the secret to this is preparation. If I haven't planned and organised my food this is soo much harder.

Good luck - you can do this.

Dee is right. Preparation is the key. Could you maybe do up a rough menu of what you are going to eat for each day, it might make the pledge easier to stick to?

Totally agree with you both. If not prepared I know that I will go for foods that are quick and easy and usually those food are sugar and fat laden which are the enemy

Another thing you could do is not have that type of food in the house and stock the pantry and fridge with plenty of healthy foods

Parental cooperation

Postby Nathan » Sun Apr 01, 2007 10:05 pm

Hey again endoftheworld

Just to restate what I wrote to you elsewhere. If part of the problem is the availability of the junk food see what can be done to decrease the availability of the food.

Do you find your parents approachable? Can you for example say mum, dad I'm finding it hard to avoid eating some of the junk food (name the ones you find hard ice creams chips etc) that comes into the house, would it be possible if we changed this to something else for snacks and treats, i.e you would suggest instead of icecreams they might get some of those frozen fruit blocks, or water ice blocks something with less calories in them.

It will be not doubt good for not just you but for the family as well. Though I'm sure this sounds like a touch ask for someone your age, I have enough trouble doing it with the people I live with but they try too and I have to remind them now and then.

Keep it up bro.

been 4 or so days now and although i had a sort of off day today, just from not eating so much most of the week it was like i didn't have a stomach. :D I think cause sometimes i would stuff myself and be all bloated it magnified the problem :P I'm going to keep this up though and try eat much less for the next month and see the result
