Ok ive read all the tips on this page and i NEED to lose weight i just dont feel attracted now that i had a baby 8 months ago i feel gross. BUT as i sit here and read these tip which they are all good. i feel as if i wouldnt be able to stick to them like i would with all the other diets i try, man why does it have to be so hard , i feel like i would starve to death if i lost all my sweets and salty supplys

Hi Holly, congratulations on having a new baby!
If you don't want to give up your naughty foods, there are still other alternatives to help you lose weight (it would just be a lot quicker if you gave up the junk food) anyway, you could just eat what you're still eating but make them smaller portions Or alternatively you could eat the same amount as you're now consuming but increase your physical activity (I guess you're already doing that with the new bub in the house) Every morning I see a lady jogging whilst pushing a stroller wearing her jogging pants and top. Perhaps after a while you could adopt an exercise similar to this.

Thanks im trying my best and i was taking seth on walks for a while there now its to cold to take my son outside and i started to get lazy because of the cold i am watching what i eat to the best that i can i gave up the junk food except my soda in which im like addicted to but i am trying to give that up as well i am drinking lots more water so hopefully something will change soon i no that it takes time and thats the sucky put well thank you agian

Hi Holly,
Do you have any friends with kiddies around the same age? When I'm out walking around my usual route, I often see two ladies with prams doing the same circuit, chatting away. If you can rope in a pal, it might make it more fun and you can goss about the tiddlywinks while you're at it!

By the way, where abouts are you that it's too cold to take bub out at ths time of year?

If you're having problems dropping the kilo's consume Negative Calorie Foods
These are foods that take up more caloric energy to digest then the calories that are in them.
Your body has to expend energy in order to digest and absorb foods, in fact, 10% of your daily caloric intake is used to process foods in your body. So these "negative" calorie foods are foods that take more calories to digest then actual calories in the item of food.
Here's a brief list of negative calorie foods.
You can basically eat these items in any quantity you want during the day...remember though, this is for the raw version of the food, adding butter, etc, to any of these things will eliminate the negative calorie effect.

I just had to share this with everyone cos I'm so happy now.
I'm have never been really overweight, but have alway wanted to lose about 8 kilos (16 pounds) or so and about a month before my sisters wedding in May I went on this strict diet and gave up lots of food and was walking for 2 hours a day to look good in my bridesmaids dress. It worked for about 2 weeks and I lost a bit of weight. But I also started feeling really guilty and paranoid about food and my body. By the time my sisters wedding came around I was actually bigger than I started off being.
Anyway I was surfing the web a few months ago and found this weight loss ebook called ''THE Weight Loss answer'' by someone called Jasmine Raine. Anyway after much hesitation I bought it and I have to say, that book just changed my life. I have lost the whole eight kilos plus I eat anything I want and I don't feel guilty or paranoid about food or my body. Just wanted to tell someone.

Hey there Holly,

Totally know what you mean about it being hard to give up drinking fizzy drinks. Why not try the diet versions? They taste a bit terrible the first few times, but after a while you don't notice, plus you save about 180 calories each time you substitute a diet one for a normal one.
And the new Coke Zero out is great - you can hardly tell it's diet. I gave some to my man and he thought it was 'real' Coke.

I have never been a huge fan of soft drink - one thing that turns me off it and junk food in general is the fact i work in a supermarket on registers and the amount of junk food people buy and feed their kids is shocking. A whole family spent $80 the other day on soft drink, pizza, icecream, and processed meats. Now how gross is that??? I read somewhere recently that if you have one can of soft drink a day over a year you will have put on so many kilo's because of it. And can you imagine what its doing to ur insides if its strong enough to clean a coin and be used as a remover of grease from clothes (a tip my bf's mates gave him which he is yet to try!).

My tip for not picking up that chocolate bar or bottle of soft drink is - I always ask myself "Do i really need that?? Will it make me feel any better if I have it???" The answers usually always no. If I want something sweet I always buy yoghurt or a nectarine or a banana and that always satisfies my cravings.

I've been quite peckish lately being at home but I keep reaching for the mangoes, apples, bananas and grapes in my fridge. If you have healthy food in front of you, you will eat it! Remember healthy doesnt mean boring.

I think the problem about junk food such as soft drinks, frozen pizzas and the like has been persistent within Australian and American cultures. As for soft drinks, i think it's the caffiene which makes people addicted and the commercialised backing which entices people to buy them.

Afew years ago i did a science project for school about soft drinks rotting teeth, the experiment was pretty simple.. get 2 pieces of this rock like substance (sorry can't remember the name) that almost resembles teeth and store one in coke, the other in water. The results after afew weeks shows the teeth in coke as being more yellow and dirty than the one stored in water. lol this was in a sense, just a school experiment, but i'm sure if you speak with dentists, they'll tell you how bad softdrinks really are on the teeth.

Yes BigM dentists will tell you how bad soft drinks are on teeth. Mine reminds me nearly never time I go.

Also we did a similar experiment when I was in high school about 20 years ago with an animal bone and got same results as you. When you see it, it is such an eye opener and makes you wonder why you ever want to drink it again.

I think you have to be careful not to replace one bad habit for another. An honours friend of mine decided to give up chocolate which she did and did fantastically. Only problem was she switched to drinking lots of coke. So that was going to be here new years resolution this year - no more coke. Wonder what she'll replace it with.
