Ultra Fat Burn Exercise

I know that many people tend to believe that cardio is the best fat burning exercise out there, but everyone overlooks weight training.

I mean, cardio sure does burn fat but only during the training session, where as weigfht training elevates metabolism for days on end. WHy does everyone overlook such a fantastic aspect of fat burning?

It also tones you up aswell, anyone agree with me?

yeh, i agree.... thats why i do weights

the only thing is, im not losing enough fat.. so im scared i will look like my brothers.. who body build :|

i am reading a book at the moment that stresses the importance of being strong, like physically strong... thats why weights are important.. or muscle building exercises...
30 kilos and counting

lost for this week, 1.4 kilos... getting there.

I think the reason some women overlook weight training is that they are afraid that if they incorporate weight training into their exercise program they will bulk up. But it is sooo hard for women to do that given we don't have the right hormones to kick it along. So don't worry Nunu - you won't look like a body builder unless you train and eat like one :D

this is why i love my workout dvd, its a mix of cardio and weights. I know how important weights are not just to help lose the weight but also tighten everything up

Yeha totally agreed, women do not be afraid of weight training, you lack the vital hormones that are used in the process of building muscle.

Sorry to say if you do want muscles youll need the help of anabolic steroids.

Yeah women wont bulk up coz we dont have enough testerone. But of course if you want to be a body builder, you will coz you take steroids and weird stuff lol

Do weights and then do cardio, get the most from working out

Fantastic thread guys!! This had been my main concern since starting at the gym. I don't want muscles! I want to LOSE FAT!! lol

My PT has incorporated cardio along with weights and although the weight is not falling off as quick as i thought, its still going well. Muscle weighs more than fat, as we know, and the more muscle you have the more calories you will burn off!!

I recently got a personal trainer and she has me on 15 different weight machines at the gym.
i was concerned at first, now 4 weeks later, my legs are hard as a rock, my friends enjoy punching them because they are so hard!!! At first i was disgusted, i didnt want to look like a man! but then i was informed about how muscle burn more calories, but also if i increase my cardio and lower my weights, the cardio will start to burn off some of the muscle. so for now muscles good and i can decrease it when im at my goal weight.
if woman were more informed about how the body works and why you should do certain things then i think it would be much easier for us!

I used to do only the cardio and it used to be a routine. Just recently I had an advise from a PT in the gym to do weight and cardio on alternate days. I havent tried it yet, I hope it works. I realised that routine can make the session boring but if you do different excesise on difrerent days it can make it exciting and full of variety.

i do cardio (5km run) and weights on mon, tues & friday
on other days i do easier cardio like a power walk or a smaller run.
weights are incredibly important and i have always found they speed up weight loss and toning. NOT muscle bulking like men.
2010 goal: get to 56-8kg and keep fit & healthy!
