Controlling Soda Intake

Postby ishtiaque.tg » Sun May 31, 2009 1:41 am

Hey everyone,

I use this trick to help me recover from the will to drink soda.

Whenever I see a drink on my table, i close my eyes, and then i imagine myself drinking it. I literally drink the soda in my mind. After drinking it (in my mind, i.e.) , keeping my eyes closed, I remember how bad I would feel afterward. I would then imagine this soda having germs, bacteria, malaria..and everything bad i can imagine and walah!...i don't wanna drink soda anymore!

This works for me...In the beginning, this process may seem to be taking too long, but as one gets used to it, its a miracle.

Btw, in this way, i have stopped drinking any beverages, and have also overcome mygreatest weakness which are rice, pasta, pizza, burger and *yum*...hotdogs...lol.....

Hope this helps... :)

I guess living healthily is nothing but a choice. Knowing the good in putting healthy stuff in your mouth will make a difference. if you love your body and you've been introduced to the many ill-effects of "the unhealthies", you wouldn't think twice about that soda sitting on the table

A great tip, btw!

When it comes to drinks, fruit juice is my biggest weakness. Before, I wouldn't think twice about drinking glass after glass, and I honestly didn't realise how many calories were in one glass. It sounds completely stupid, but as a 'liquid', I assumed that I wouldn't gain anything from drinking juice, as it would leave my body shortly after lol.

I can't give up juice completely, but to minimse how much I drink, I usually mix 3/4 diet lemonade and 1/4 juice together. A simple tip, but it really helps to cut down on the amount of calories I'm drinking, and still gives me my juice hit :D

Thankfully I've never had a relationship with soda like I do with food  my mum got a brita water thing that sits in the fridge, have had it since I was about 12 and water is pretty much all I drink. Although when I do feel like something fizzy I usually get a can of coke zero or pepsi max, there's a bit of salt in it but I don't have it too often, and thankfully I can't really taste the difference to the normal stuff.

Very unorthodox, but also seems very effective!

Good one, sweetie!

Opt for a fresh fruit juice whenever you are craving for sodas. If your friend is comfortable drinking soda, you can give company by tasting your fresh fruit juice. You can get mixed fruit juice and call it a mock-tail. Enjoy the benefits you get from the fruit juice and keep yourself away from soda.

Seems like a good trick!

I'd also like to add that I cut back soda by drinking sparkling mineral water. it has that same refreshing, carbonated feel to it, but it helps stay hydrated a lot better.

Hello,

I like your this advice but what when you will eat or drink any of these food? You will not be able to control again your self. So better you reduce your eating habits slowly.
