Your toothbrush will help you lose kilos!

Postby nyz » Thu Feb 01, 2007 2:31 pm

Hi Everyone...thought i might share this crazy tip with you if you did not know it already.

Now i need to admit something..i am a terrible picker. Once i decide i am full i tend to keep picking at my plate, or maybe half an hour after a satisfying meal i find myself wanting to pick at the fridge.

So, at times when i am tempted to keep eating or to pick, and i have established that i am not actually hungry, i have found what helps me is to brush my teeth! Seriously...i have brushed my teeth maybe five times in one day as it stops me from wanting to pick as my mind had trained itself since i was little not to eat after you brush your teeth. the minty taste usually lasts half an hour and by that time the craving is usually gone. Try it!

Hope that helps my fellow pickers! :D

I have tried that but sometimes I go ahead and eat anyway even though I know it's going to taste awful! I use mouthwash as well now and find that works even better :)

Hi Nyz...yeah that is a great tip!! Have you tried the little listerine pocket packs?? These would be good to keep close on hand in case you can't get to your toothbrush. They are like little strip of cellophane probably half the size of a postage stamp and you just pop one on your tongue and it has a great effect!!! Just a thought for when you are out of the house!!

That's a great idea! I've started carrying around a couple of packs of chewies with me and I have one just after I've eaten or if I get into that picky mood.

Good idea :) I kind of do the same thing but with sugar-free gum instead of toothpaste!

Sugar Free Gum

Postby NurseDuds » Wed Oct 03, 2007 2:47 am

I was just going to suggest the sugar free gum. I eat and then im still 'hungry' so i grab sum gum, bout 30mins later im not 'hungry' any more. Its a good one for sugar-a-holics like me....lollies are my best friend.....im a grazer as well which is really bad cause i spend most of my day studing and of course grazing my way through m n ms or something else.....

Anyways goodluck to you all to loose some weight. GO girls and guys!

This sounds like a really good tip, i usually only brush in the mornings and occasionally at night if my mouth doesn't feel too clean.

definitely going to start brushing after every meal and try to brush if i get pecky when i shouldn't.

you shouldn't brush your teeth so many times in one day, it'll erode your enamel and give you mouth ulcers. I use to brush after every meal and sure, it helped me stop eating when I'm not hungry because I had mouth ulcers all the time. Not pleasant.
