coffee....mmmm

Postby madeline » Sat May 19, 2007 7:19 pm

Having a takeway coffee in my hand actually helps me lose weight the same way smoking would. I drink veeeery slowly, so if i buy a coffee at 11am, and go shopping with a friend it's still in my hand at 12pm. If I have a mug of coffee beside me when I'm on the computer, I sip at it, and finish it quite a while later. But it distracts me from eating, because I feel I AM eating already.

Also it's one of the quickest things to make so it satisfies an urge almost immediately, which stops me from snacking. With skim milk and no sugar, my coffee is almost good for me!

Nope I don't drink decaf. I should probably add that I drink about 2 coffees a day and maybe 3 teas total. All with no sugar and skim milk.

Hehe yep sometimes I hold it until it's a bit cold, but for things like long blacks, you have to wait before drinking it anyway so it's at the right temperature after a while. Usually it's still a bit warm by the end, or otherwise I just throw out whatever was left in the cup, but even if I'm not drinking it, it's still occupying my hand.

I do the water thing sometimes, but I always manage to take it into the supermarket with me... then I feel like such a crim. like one of those people who start eating something and then go pay for it later.

I usually keep my water bottle in my bag, and hold my coffee, it warms my hands in winter too.

I must be one of the lucky ones - because I love the smell of coffee but cannot stand the taste of it! I usually have a diet coke in my hands (or my credit card much to my hubbies annoyance!!!!)

Coffe helps me too, but this sounds sooo much worse than it really is, it helps because i love the tste but it makes me queasy. So I'll have one, and for the next hour cant even *think* of food.
Isnt that disgraceful? i sound like i have an eating disorder.
Life is too important to be taken seriously!
