Daily Water Intake

Postby Angel » Thu Jan 05, 2006 10:11 pm

Tips for drinking 2 litres of water a day:
    try carrying around a water bottle with you when you are out and about;
    keep a bottle or jug of water on your desk;
    drink a glass of water every hour or so - make it a habit;
    have a glass of water after you go to the loo - replenish what you lost!
    every time you are at the sink or in the kitchen have a glass of water;
    in a jug of water add sliced lemon or orange or lime or strawberries - it gives it a hint of taste so its not so bland; or
    try herbal tea, there are some really yummy ones out there, some you can drink cold - 3 berries is my favourite, very refreshing and you get the benefits of not only the water but the berries too.

Hope these help.

I drink about 2L a day and now, it is not a chore at all because my body relies on it now. I just have my big 1.5L bottle at work and chug it down all day.

Here's what I am trying at the moment...

1. I'm going to get a big 1.5L bottle for my desk, replacing the existing 600mL bottle that I have. The idea being that the larger the bottle, the more I will drink. Same reason as why you always eat more at a buffet restaurant... because there's more available!

2. I've just got onto these great energy drinks. They're all natural (no sugar or caffeine) and comes in sachets of a powder that you add to water. I had two yesterday and as a result, got through an extra 600mL of water for the day! I was about to bounce off the walls of my office, but that's beside the point :lol: :lol:

This is one of my biggest hurdles. I don't like water.
I can't drink it straight first thing in the morning or it makes me sick. I never thought to add fruit to it....mmm strawberries!

I'm going to try these tips, thanks so much.

Oh, and Sarah.
Do you remember the name of those energy drinks you posted about?

Hi Neney. The energy drinks are called ACT (stands for Advanced Cell Therapy). I get them ordered in via the internet from the US. There's a bit of information on the website :arrow: ACT Energy Drink

For those with kitchen scales... digital is better:

To find out the volume of your water glass, put the glass on the scales and zero them. Then fill the glass with water to measure the weight of the water in the glass. The weight in grams equals the volume in mL. (Alternatively you could weigh the glass empty and then full and subtract the two to find the weight of the water)

So now you know how many mLs your favourite water glass holds :wink:

the amount of water I drink really affects my weight loss. The more I drink the more I lose, when Im at work I go thru about 3litres and I go thru a little less when at home. I just fill us pump water bottles and carry them around all day

One of the things that helps me drink more water is adding Crystal Light to it. It comes in all sorts of different flavors & only 5 calories each.
