Thanks guys! :D

Here's my diary entry for last night....

Lots of air
A sip of water

And that's it. LOL Nothing!! :D :D

Will go shopping for cable ties at lunchtime today. (Today's my first day back at work after the last two days off with a cold :( ). I considered padlocks etc, but that would require hammering nails into my pantry door, which I don't really want to do! In winter though, at night time, the temperature outside is less than the temperature inside my fridge.... so my food would be better preserved if I left it all outside overnight!!!! Let's hope it does not come to that!!

Thanks Ali. Good and bad news this morning... starting with the bad:

12:30am - Small serve of bran plus, about 30g, 100cals

I woke up convinced it was morning, felt hungry, walked into the kitchen and saw the time on the microwave. I thought - stuff it, I'll eat my pre-workout snack now anyway, and then just not eat when I wake up. I cut off the string, grrrr!!!

Ok good news:
- it was only a small amount of food
- I got the cable ties yesterday, which worked wonders on the fridge/freezer. They won't fit the pantry unfortunately.
- I know where I went wrong. I will no longer leave the scissors in sight in the kitchen!!

9:30pm - about 15 almonds

I was craving badly last night, so thought it was best to have a small snack. Otherwise I would have cut sick in the middle of the night if I had woken up! And, it worked! I woke up and didn't eat anything :)

Well done Sarah! Your determination with this is amazing!

Are you feeling physically better for it in the morning when you wake up? Eg, not bloated or anything like that?

I bet it feels great to be kicking this habbit, and you only have to look at your weigh ins to see what it is doing for your weight loss :D
Saying goodbye to calorie counting AND scales for a while.

Just enjoying the new and improved healthy me and embracing my new lifestyle!

This has been a fascinating read.

I cannot go to bed on an empty stomach. By the time I am ready to go to bed it has been 5 hours since my last meal and I am starving. I have a glass of warm milk and a banana, I work this meal into my daily points. It helps me sleep more soundly.

Perhaps work in a meal just before you go to bed, this way you might not wake up in the middle of the night needing food?

Hi Lilly Pilly. I do have a planned snack for bed time, but do you know what happens??? I eat it straight after dinner!!! I need to have discipline to WAIT after dinner and SAVE my snack :(

Ok, gone a little off the rails... this will be a bit embarassing...

Friday 7th March
100g serve of low carb icecream

Saturday 8th March
Half a tub (110g) low fat cream cheese (yep, you heard right, god I'm gross!!!)

Sunday 9th March
The OTHER HALF of the cream cheese!!!
And a small 100g apple.

Fiona, I think I do feel better in the morning. It's great to no longer wake up with a stomach full of gassy food, feeling bloated and guilty!! The last week though I've been waking up feeling awful regardless due to a horrible cold!!! Yuck!! First time i've had a cold in the last three years :o

I'm having a bad news morning :(

1 small apple
2 tuna pouches

Can't beleive I managed to get the string off the pantry door! There were many, many knots.. tight ones too  The only good thing about it is that I had a chance to stop and think for a while, before I attacked the knots!!

Ok, I'm back *rolls up sleaves*

Let me see....

Wednesday 12 March
Nothing, to the best of my memory.

Thursday 13 March - Saturday 15 March
Nothing whatsoever!! Woo hoo (ok I have a reason, I was in Sydney, staying in a hostel, only had what I took, plus the kitchen was closed from 10:30pm to 6am.... just for me hahahaha!!)

Sunday 16 March
I fell off my perch, and remembered I had packed a stash of brazil nuts in my suitcase, ate 9 of the little devils!

Monday 17 March
Nothing. But before you get too excited, I completely binged all day, there was no way I was fitting in any more last night!!!

Thanks Tam :D

It was a bit of forced "no eating" as I was not at home. The reall test will come this week, and especially over the weekend when I'm going to my parents' for easter!!

Tuesday 18th March

Before bed - About 30g protein powder mixed with a little soy milk
Around midnight - a serve of almonds

Serves me right for not locking the pantry!!!
