Stacey's WW food diary.

Postby mum2james » Fri Oct 10, 2008 11:09 am

I thought I would start my own food diary. As well as keeping me honest it will help me avoid blow outs as i'm going to make myself post here, even if I make bad choices.

I'm doing Weightwatchers and i'm on 22 points per day.

Today.
Breakfast: 3/4 cup of cornflakes with 1/2 cup of strawberries and 1/4 cup of Pura light start milk. Plus 2 cups of tea with 2 sugars. 4.5 points.
Snack: Wholemeal crumpet with 1 tsp of WW strawberry jam. 1.5 points
Lunch: Wholemeal toasted sandwich with ham and salad. 4.5 points.
Snack:Banana. 2.5 points
Dinner: Unsure yet but I have 7 points for dinner.
Snack:Nestle diet dark choc mousse. 2 points.

And everyday I drink 3-4 600ml bottles of water.

Hi Rach,
That sounds good.

For dinner tonight I ended up having steamed vegetables, medium jacket potato with homemade vegie salsa (from the ww mag) and 1 tsp sour cream. Points 1.5.

A little under but i'm going to a mums meet up on Saturday and Sunday so i'll save some points for that. :)

Have you tried the Vegie salsa from the ww mag Rach? It's so delicious! I have it on jacket potatos, with crackers and mix it with pasta.

hi stacey :) welcome to the forum :)
i'm doing WW as well but just at home - i've got a couple of bits and pieces, and an excel program that i use to work out the points of stuff, its pretty nifty. i'm on 20 points but as soon as i lose any weight i'll go down to 19 :( its not too much of a problem because i save up for saturday nights when i usually go out for tea with my boy or get something naughty (chocolate or icecream!) but i still like having that extra point :P

good luck, you've done really well so far, can't wait to here more about your progress :)

btw - are the WW mags good? and how much are they? i haven't checked them out before (poor student lol)

Hi Lexi,
Thank you. :D
I was thinking of just doing weightwatchers at home too. I have all the books and the points calculater but I don't think I would stay on track if I didn't have meetings and I want to become a lifetime member too. :)
I started out on 24 points and as i've dropped a point when i've lost weight i've definately noticed the difference. An extra point goes a long way!
I personally like the WW mags. They are full of great articles and recipes. They are $5.95 but I get them from meetings and they are $4.95 there. :) Another mag I buy is Slimming and Health. It also has great articles and recipes.

I like the slimming and health mag as well mum, I buy it each month.
I got a free 6 month subscription Of WW mag. when I bought my scales, I liked it to flick through. The recipes were good but they had the points value and no calories/fat listed and the ads for their food got a bit much apart from that though for free it was not a bad read  .

Shalimar, Were those the kitchen scales you bought or scales to weigh yourself? I'm thinking about buying the kitchen scales but they are abit pricey at $100.
The ads are few too many ads for the food but I guess they are just trying to promote their products. I think the magazine is good if your following the points plan because you don't have to worry about figuring out all the points in each meal. I like that in slimming and health they give you the nutritional info.

Lucy, thank you for the welcome. :)
I like the food diary section too. I like seeing what other people eat and getting ideas from them. I'll have to check out your food diary. :)

I think i'll be posting my food intake at night as sometimes I change what i'm having if i've eaten more points then I should've. If I have lots of vegies for dinner you'll know that i've eaten most of my points during the day.

Food diary today.

Breakfast: Wholemeal toast with 1tsp light butter and 2 tsp peanut butter and a cup of tea.
Snack: Packet of WW sour cream potato bakes.
Lunch: Subway 6" Ham sub on honey oat bread with no cheese and a drizzle of bbq sauce and a medium berry crush boost juice (juice shared with my son.)
Snack: 1 50g packet of Sour cream and chives Pitos (shared with my son).
Dinner: Salad, 1 serve of WW oven baked chips with 1 tbsp tomato sauce and a thin bbq sausage.

Total points is 22/22

question, what are the potato bakes like? my mum bought some for us but when i open the pack all the little packets inside were all oily and greasy   so gross lol

Lexi, I like the sour cream potato bakes but mostly because they are crunchy and I love anything to crunches. They do have a plain taste but for a quick snack they are good. I don't buy them often, only when they are on special.

I went to Melbourne today to visit my old mothers group. We had a birthday in a park for all our toddler because they are all turning 2.
Was a great day and I ate way less then I thought I would, perhaps because of the heat?.

Breakfast: 2 pieces of wholemeal toast with half a tsp of light butter and 2tsp of WW strawberry jam and a cup of tea. 3 points.
Lunch: 1 and half cups of green seedless grapes and a salad sandwich with light cream cheese. 7 points.
Snack: Very snall piece of homemade chocolate cake (unsure of points)
Dinner: Falfaels. 4.5 points.
Snack: 50g Red rock deil honey soy chicken chips. 4 points.

18.5/22 points so 3.5 for the cake.

I also did about 1 hour of walking so I think that will burn off the cake. It really was only a tiny piece.

Snack:Darrell Lea Almond Nougat (lite) and 1 chocolate teddy biscuit. 5.5 points (gulps)
Dinner:Spaghetti with wholemeal pasta with grated vegies and 1 piece of lite garlic bread. 8 points

Breakfast:2 slices of wholemeal toast with 1tsp ww canola spread and 1 tsp peanut butter and 2 cups of tea. 4.5 points
Snack:1/2 cup of grapes and WW sour cream potato bakes. 1.5 points
Lunch:Salad sandwich with light cream cheese and sandwich pickles and a choc chip bar. 5.5 points
Snack:Chocolate coated peanuts. 3 points
Dinner:Salad, WW oven baked chips (with 2tsp WW sour cream) and a small serve of peanut satay sauce and chicken. 6.5 points

I'm so proud of myself today. I had to travel to the city for a specialists appointment so I took my own lunch. Usually I would just buy sushi but since i'm having that tomorrow night and my weigh in is tomorrow I didn't want to. I reisisted getting a sundae or thickshake from Mcdonalds and I love those!
I got home at 6pm so I had dinner straight away for the family and didn't go to the cupboard and snack on junkfood.
