Monday, August 17, 2009

So this is my first day diarizing (is that a word?) what I'm eating and drinking. I hope I'll be able to find out what I'm doing wrong, as well as what I'm doing right. I'm hoping to get a little more balance in my weight loss, instead of these sudden ups and downs. Next to noting what I'm eating I will also be doing more muscular exercise next to my (nearly) 2 hours of bike riding each day.

Breakfast
1 whole wheat cracker with cheese
1 whole wheat cracker with chicken filet

In between
1 slice of honey cake
2 syrup cookies

Lunch
3 whole wheat crackers

In between
1 syrup cookie
1 slice of honey cake

Diner
Plate with salad and small chicken slices

In between
1 slice of honey cake
1 chocolate chip cookie


As you can see, I've been failing already today. I'm cutting down on honey cake, even though it's very darn nutricious as I ride my bike so much. I'll be taking only one slice with me tomorrow. I'll be cutting down to the syrup cookies as well, only one tomorrow. The whole wheat crackers are perfect. I'll keep eating those, and will take a cup of tomato soup along with a few of them for lunch. I'll cruise along the way and will see where to balance one thing and another.

This is going to be a bit harder for me to remember. I forgot to fill out the diary yesterday, so I'm doing this by memory.

Breakfast
1 Wholewheat cracker with cheese
1 Wholewheat cracker with chicken filet
1/3 of a cold tuna pizza leftover from a co-worker the night before.

In between
Skipped it this time, so nothing...

Lunch
3 wholewheat crackers

In between
Syrup cookie

Diner
Plate of wok vegetables and a slice of baked meat

Chocolate chip cookie

Maybe the pizza was a bit overdone for breakfast, but I couldn't resist when I arrived at the office after my bike ride, and finding the box of pizza in the kitchen. My co-worker, I should call him friend I guess, left it pecially for me in the kitchen. He's a great guy.

Today was quite a bit healthier than yesterday. Though, I might want to consider cutting down on the evening in betweens. There's only 2 chocolate chip cookies left, so that's a good thing ;)

Besides that, I did another 2x25km bike ride, so I burnt loads of calories. And now, I'm off to doing at least 50 situps.

I can't remember a think from Friday, except that I had about 5 handsful of salted potato chips before I hopped on the bike towards home. Nothing I'm really worried about though. Should turn out just fine.

From now on I will be referring to the wholewheat crackers just by using the word cracker. If I'm having another kind of cracker, I'll make a note of it in my posts.
A few things I noticed is that I'm pretty easily seduced by junk food like potato chips or peanuts and alike. That's one of my weaknesses I have to face, and overcome.
Another one, is that I eat too much bread when I'm on the job on Saturdays. I just walk down to the kitchen, take a few slices and smear on what I think is tasty. Sellery salad (see below) is a good product to smear on, but peanut butter, or the ham/cheese combo is already a bit less healthy. Even though I ride the bike for 50 km a day, I shouldn't be eating this stuff, and I should resort to my crackers with cheese or chicken filet, with a slice of honey cake in between and an apple in the afternoon, and finish off with a salad and a slice of meat each night. I'm taking this quite seriously I think, but somehow, on Saturdays and Sundays the discipline is just lost and I eat whatever I feel like. Not good, not good at all. I'm supposed to lose weight, not keep it at the weight I am at right now.

1 bag of peanuts (about 250 gr I think.... I know, not good!)

Again, I failed miserably. During the day I have eaten too much and the wrong produts. Something I need to drastically change to be able to ever meet my weight goal.

I've been keeping very neatly to my diet today. This evening I had two small chocolate cookies, this afternoon a slice of apple pie because a colleague of mine hit 50. Old fart ;) Seriously, I think my weight won't get higher today.
