food isnt my main focus for the day now. I used to snack all day long, and not eat breakfast or lunch really. and my snacks were high fat, high sugar quick energy boosts to get me going. the more sugar I ate, the more I craved. I would be eating marshmellows by the handful, and even feel sickly, but still go looking for more snacks 5 minutes later to keep up the energy to keep going during the day.

I am not sure my food now is on the right track, I struggle to eat 5 portions of veggies a day.
I have logged my food into a calculator and seem to be going OVER in protien each day
my fat intake is low enough, calories 1500-1600, claims I am undereating!?!?

breakfast today:
yogurt, 1 orange and 1 tangelo squeezed.
lunch: 2 wraps low fat ones (1.5gms fat each) with lettuce, avocado, cucumber, capsicum, chicken. (no sauce or cheese)
snack: hot chocolate made with skim milk, about 2grms fat total (who knows how much sugar lol)
dinner: smoothie with rockmelon, 2 kiwi, 2 strawberries, skim milk and yogurt (99% fat free)
30gms pasta (boiled)
snack: apple
walnuts, brazil, cashews

so no where enough veggies, over on the fruit.
BUT, the hot choc was organic, so that being the only packaged food today, isnt too bad.

forgot to put the step-o-meter on oops.

but did do a little walk, went to the rockpools to put the tadpoles/frogs back home again.

20/09/2010

breakfast:
yogurt 99% fat free
kate morgan pine/lime shake

snack:
maccadamia nut mix with cranberries and dates and sultana's and pepitas
6 crackers

lunch:
whole pineapple (eaten over 2 hours)

dinner:
singapore chicken noodle stirfry, and homemade spring rolls.
useing rice noodles and rice paper, alot of veggies, spring rolls baked in oven, not deep fried.
4gms fat in sauce, chicken trimmed of all fat, no oil used to cook, only a spray of ricebran oil.

I over ate at dinner, and feel very bloated and full. again, not many veggies, only in stirfry, broccolli, capsicum, onion, cellery
spring rolls had carrots, ginger, cabbage, capsicum and vermicelli noodles.
No exercise yet.

energy levels are low. could be something to do with twins who STILL dont sleep thru the night??

fruit smoothie, with skim milk, yogurt, cantaloupe, kiwi fruit and banana
vegetable soup
5 brazil nuts
baked fish in lemon and parsley
carrots, corn, beans and broccoli

Its funny reflecting on your day, when you dont pay much attention during the day, and then at the end think about what you ate all day.
i definetly got the veggies right today lol
and enough fruit too.
dairy good, and protien good.
there are no processed carbs, altho I might have a few crackers now.

hey chikki, read your other thread but now i've lost it. I don't think you're eating enough! pop your details into calorieking.com.au and it will tell you how many calories you should be eating... it sounds strange but you will lose more weight eating all those calories rather than less. its free and doesnt hurt just to give it a try. definately think youre not eating enough though

hi!!!
I add the calories into myfitness pal, and i average 1500-1600 a day.
so i think theres enough calories there??
I dont write the serving size, only what I ate, so if you saw it all, theres alot of food. :-)

23/09/2010

kate morgan shake, banana ;)
tub yogurt
cashew, almond and walnut nut mix
6inch subways chicken snitzel
skinny cow icecream
weightwatchers passionfruit and lemon thingy
massive bowl of vegetable soup
1 tangelo, 1 orange
1 apple

and seriously, I am full!!!!
I dont feel hungry during the day, or crave sugar like I used to.
I didnt get any urge to eat the donuts, or the mini pizzas the kids had.
I even resisted the marshmellows the kids had tonight.

I dont want to count calories. I dont want to do it for the rest of my life. I need a eating plan I can just do automatically without thinking too hard.
I counted cals once before on my old eating days, and hit over 3000 calories.
so surely based on that, at 1500 now, I will loose weight.

I am comfortable right now at what I am eating, as I said I dont really crave for anything else. its something I can continue and not feel dprived. something alot of *diets* have failed, as I have done weightwatchers and counted points, and done others with counting calories, and sorry it bores me to tears to do that. i cannot do that forever.
something like this, where i watch fat intake (will relax a little on the fat oncce the liver settles down in a few weeks after my operation) and try eat from every food group. add different colours to my meal, yellow, red, green, and white.

I feel more satisfied with a 6inch mutligrain roll with salad than what i used to eat from subways, the foot long white with no salad.

I am not saying I am perfect, or that i wont go and fall off the wagon. but I am happy with my food, and its a great improvement than a month ago. so while things are going well, I'll stick to it, and yes if I am hungry i will eat, just not high calorie fat filled food, but fresh, natural and low fat.

26/09/10

exercise 1 hour walking

food:
yogurt
berries mix (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry)
50grams rice crackers
green tea
ceasar salad
25grams crackers
30grams cashews
2 kiwi fruit
5 strawberries
persimon 1/2
pepsi max
yogurt
weight watches cookies and cream icecream
veggies (beans, carrots and broccolli)

the weather has turned suddenly warm, and as my body adjusts I have been drinking alot of water.
I dont feel like eating much really, and struggled with dinner, the veggies. I just didnt want to finish them, but I did.
I also know that is waaaay not enough food for today, but how can you force yourself to eat when you are full??

I have eaten yesterday and the day before, not written down is 3/4 bag of marshmellows. I know i resisted them before, but I couldnt any ,longer. then who should show today, but dear ol aunt flo, so explains the sugar cravings.

Good to see your still going strong there dragonfly...well done! I've kind of falling of the wagon due to a lot of stress and reliance on exercise PLUS the money has also dropped back. Going to make a post now. I wont wish you luck so as not to discredit the awesome effort you have put in so far.

01/10/2010

wow a strange date there lol

food:
honey-melon and blackberry, and black cherry, yogurt smoothie.
veggie soup (celery, carrot, zucchini, broccoli, leek, capsicum, mushroom)
apple
more veggie soup
cashews
rice and thai green curry (home made)

40min walk.
didnt wear my step-o-meter

I havent had a moment to sit down all day, besides while eating my soup lol.
they were 2 big bowls, so filled me up alot.
my smoothie was huge, ended up being around 700mls all up. I really enjoy smoothies in the warmer weather. so light and filling without the weighing down feeling.
I am not hungry at all, and dont walk around looking for snacks.
food is defiantly not my main focus for the day. I have also drank close to 2 litres of water.
