Hi my name is Rhonda and I am 43 years old. Last year I was cruising along walking getting fit again and doing really well then on mother’s day I went to pick up my grandson and felt this amazingly painful stinging going on in my back. I put up with the pain for a few weeks though I couldn’t sit, stand or lay down for too long or the pain would intensify. I finally went to the doctors who sent me to get an x-ray and apparently I had burst a disk. I asked him what I could do to fix it and he said that there was nothing I could do(I have since found out that this is not true). Well I felt sorry for myself for a few months (had my own little pity party) got over it and thought I have to do something or I am never going to get past this.
I decided that this was going to be my year to look after me. I gave up smoking on the 3 January, I joined the gym and decided to change my career and do something new so I am studying photography. I have never held a drivers licence so I decided it was about time I got one of those, I go for my P’S on Tuesday (Fingers crossed I get it). I was going to the gym probably 3 – 4 times a week with a friend up until Easter. The poor thing has had some of her own problems and hasn’t been back on a regular basis, so I haven’t been going as I depended on her to get there, but like I said fingers crossed that problem will be solved Tuesday.
I have around 60 kg to lose now as I have put on around 30 since I have not been exercising. It is going to be an epic journey but one I’m hoping to share with you guys.
