Maikeru's Food and Thought Diary.

Postby Miss Maikeru » Sat Jun 16, 2012 9:14 pm

So today I slept in until around 12.30 which is very unlike me... Considering I usually get up at around 6am every day and eat a big breaky at around 7am. I think my body was telling me that I needed a well earned rest from working so much.

In saying that, my food diary today is a bit boring.

I woke up and had a chamomile tea, my multivitamin, 2 fish oil tablets and an inner health plus.
I was suffering from a pretty bad headache and I know it's due to the fact that I hadn't eaten anything, and I really needed some water.
I then had an orange, and some carmans muesli with some jalna yogurt along with a big bottle of water.

I didn't really eat anything else until dinner, which was home made chicken parmas and veg.
I crumbed the skin-off chicken in quinoa crumbs and lightly pan fried them in some extra virgin cold pressed olive oil. I made the tomato layer with salt reduced tomato paste, freshly chopped oregano, dried garlic and basil and some canned diced tomatoes (salt reduced). I topped that with some light honey leg ham, semi sundried tomatoes and some light mozzarella cheese (which I don't use a lot of, my boyfriend gets extra though ;)) and browned it under the grill.

The boy devoured his, and he got a side of chips too! (I pinched one, hehe) I couldn't even finish mine but I ate most of my veg and I feel really proud of myself for learning how much to eat before I feel sick.

Until tomorrow!

Pretty basic today!

Breakfast: Chamomile, vanilla and honey tea with A2 light milk, and some carmans muesli with jalna yogurt. 2 fish oil tablets, a multivitamin and an inner health plus.

Lunch: Been nibbling on carrot sticks...(Not very hungry today) I've also been craving milk today so I had a small glass of A2 light milk.

Dinner: Made up a big batch of vege soup. For anyone wondering it's the Jamie Oliver minestrone, but I don't add any pasta and I add some lean beef mince to it to make it more hearty. I use a lot more veg than he does and it's so luxe. I also add chilli and pepper :)

There is dark chocolate and strawberries in the fridge that are calling my name...Maybe a couple won't hurt?

GOT MY SCALES TODAY :D

So we decided instead of having the soup, we would keep that for lunches through the week. For tea we are having a gluten free vege pizza!! Yummm.

The soup sounds great! Will be something to look forward to through teh week.

I just want to mention that 12% body fat for a women (I'm assuming you're female with the Miss in your name? ) is WAY under what is recommended. Healthy range for a woman aged 20-40 is 21-33%.

Woahhhhhhhhhh really? Yes I am a miss!! Haha.

The only reason I've chosen 12% is because I have 19% body fat at the moment...Or last time I was measured/had skin folds taken.
Maybe I should aim for 14%? I still have quite a bit of jiggly stuff on me, and my PT says we are working towards another 6% body fat loss. So that would be around 13%?

I'll have a chat to him tomorrow - I have training tomorrow night.

Thanks for the insight though, I didn't know about the 'healthy range'.

This morning I woke up and I wasn't feeling like my normal breaky. I felt a bit sick and had a headache again, I seem to be suffering a lot from headaches lately. Maybe I need to drink more water?

Breakfast: Chamomile vanilla and honey tea with a little light A2 milk.
SCULPT protein powder, one banana, 250ml of light A2 milk and some ice cubes blended into a thickshake. (Choc banana YUM!) Around 30gms of protien in that baby!

Lunch: Minestrone! I added some parmesan on top though, my little treat...Although it is a bit naughty. I figure I'm training tonight so I can have it :)

Afternoon Tea: Orange and some jalna yogurt and carmans muesli.

Dinner: I haven't thought about it yet but I think I will have some quinoa and dill crumbed white fish and veg? MMmmm...

And then PERSONAL TRAINING! 45 mins of torture.... BRING IT ON!!!

Good afternoon ladies and gents!

Breakfast: Protien shake with banana and light A2 milk.
Chamomile vanilla and honey tea with light a2 milk.

Lunch: Minestrone!

Afternoon tea: Strawberries and an orange.

Dinner...Not sure yet!

Training was great last night, sore today and will be more sore tomorrow. Bring on the weightloss!
I'm also really proud of myself for not giving into chocolate cravings this week, I've been having a tea or a big glass of water if I really want something and it kills the cravings every time.

Hopefully this is the start of an ongoing habit!

Thankyou!!

The only reason I am able to stay on track is because I do a massive cook up/chop up of all the things I'm going to have through the week... I fail when I don't have anything prepared.
If I can do it so can you!! Good luck mate!!

So we decided to have home made tacos for tea!

Home made salsa with diced tomatoes, cumin seed, onion, garlic and fresh cracked pepper with a *pinch* of sea salt. Lots of lettuce, light cheese and lean beef mince. YUM. I had three, I would normally have five, HAHA! Yay for portion control and SELF control as well.

Until tomorrow.

I am feeling so exhausted today...Lots of muscle soreness from Monday night's training sesh.
Been staying true to my pledge this week of drinking lots of water...Yay me!

Breakfast: Protien shake with a banana and A2 light milk.
Honey chamomile and vanilla tea (no milk). Multi vitamin, inner health plus, fish oil tabs.

Morning tea: 2 oranges! THESE WERE YUM.

Lunch: Minestrone.

Dinner: Gluten free vege pizza.

I have the hallucination that because I'm not eating big solid foods for breakfast, that I'm not getting enough in to me...I have never had shakes for meal replacement before, but they seem to be working well to keep me full and give me energy. I'll see how this reflects in my weigh in on Monday and if it's working well I will not feel so bad not having 'FOOD' for breakfast.

Tired tired tired...

You seem to be actually enjoying what you are eating which is great ..... we should enjoy our food as it is a big part of our life. We just need to train the brain to enjoy more healthy food.

Great.

You're absolutely right! It's all about creating habits I suppose :)

Last night for dinner we made home made light tuna patties! We used light tuna in springwater (drained) a few grated Carisma (Lo GI) potatoes, some quinoa crumbs, a few eggs and seasoned with paprika, black pepper and thyme. Delicious and healthy...I always drown mine in lemon juice, I love fish and lemon! Just mush it all together and lightly pan fry in a little bit of extra virgin cold pressed olive oil until brown.

THIS IS AN AWESOME PRE/POST WORKOUT MEAL! Lots of protien, low gi, paprika and black pepper for the metabolism, good carbs and a bit of sodium (which is essential when working out to prevent FAINTING etc :P).

I don't have specific measurements of how much I used...I just mixed it, added stuff, mixed, added stuff until it was the right consistency! Give it a go! :D

That recipe sounds great...where did you get the Quinoa Crumbs from and what advantage in using them?
