January Detox Challenge - A Healthy Body Makeover

Postby milkyway » Sat Dec 27, 2008 1:36 pm

Following the decandence of Christmas and coasting on the motivation of new years resolutions - I'm feeling primed and ready to give my body a healthy makeover this January.

is anyone up to join me in a January Detox challenge?

Detox can mean whatever it means for you :P

For me, it means no alcohol, no pepsi max and no refine sugar - just lots of healthy, natural foods and plenty of exercise.

I will reward myself at the end of the month with a massage to purge any remaining nasties (last time I did a detox and had a massage, I felt like I'd been hit by a truck for a day afterwards!)

I want to be under 70kg by the end of Jan.
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...

Ok, I am in! I have drunk way to much wine lately so I think going off wine will do me the world of good. I have also been eating more processed foods this past week and am now feeling it- I have no energy and no will to find any energy so this needs to change!

I've been playng around with an idea like this for the last few days - feeling pretty feral from all the gorging and sugar. (My god, I've eaten SO MUCH CHOCOLATE in these past few days - I can't even really taste it anymore!).

So in January I will:

- Completely give up sugary lollies/chocolate/treats (with the exception of plain organic cocoa/jarrah hot drinks- hopefully that will keep cravings at bay :? )
- Completely give up all fast foods/take-away
- Salad for either lunch or dinner every day

Would love to join in-this is my first post-will put up a proper intro in a day or so.
I think detox means for me:
Drinking more than 600ml of water a day-will have to post about this-shocking at drinking water
Eating at least 2 pieces of fruit a day.

Good luck everyone!
PS-know the feeling of not being able to taste the chocolate after a while-how scary  :?

I'm in too!!!!!!!

Now what does detox mean to me.....

I'm going to give up lollies (my weakness) and chocolate (not so much a fan of but it still occasionally finds its way into my mouth.

I'm going to give up fast food for a whole month

I'm also going to vow to have 3 days a week where i'm eating no meat (excluding fish, i can have fish), these days will be wednesdays, saturdays and sundays (that should help keep my weekend disasters to a record low)

Oh and i'm also going to refrain from adding salt to my cooking for the whole time as well. Well i never use salt salt, usually garlic salt because of the garlic taste, but i'll get some garlic granules or something like that garlic powder or something :)

Whats the old saying - safety in numbers! I am in also and my big thing is no alcohol. Too much wine, too many nights per week, makes me give up on eating healthy foods. I can't stop at one glass of wine, so I need to go cold turkey. No alcohol.

I will also drink more water, I would like to fill my litre bottle and get through that each day, which would be a big thing for me because as someone said, not good with water!

I am so excited that you guys are doing this, because without you, I would probably have no motivation.

74.3kg and going DOWN! :P

Massive hangover today so more than ready for the detox. I don't want to feel like this anymore. I've made it public, too - so now my family knowsand will get on my case if I stray.

Weighing in at 111.1kg.. i think its more but i think i'm dehydrated from the booze last night lol

I stuffed up this morning already! BF got me 4 chomp bars last night to have while drinking etc and i only ate 1. So I scoffed the other 3 first thing this morning, i didnt want them in the fridge to tempt me but he cracked it when i went to throw them out. So i've failed already. But he knows the rules now :) No chocolate, lollies, chips or fast food.
