Hi Wheelie,

I reckon I might participate in this challenge with you! Five months sounds like a good amount of time to lose some weight. I want to lose 10, so although its not as much as you want to lose, its going to be tough all the same.

I want to start on Monday (because I'm getting married this weekend and don't want to deny myself all the great things in life on my wedding day, like french bubbles), which will make my starting date Monday August 3 and will make my finish date January 3. This poses a problem, as Christmas is right at the end of my challenge, but I'll try and do my absolute best around the silly season.

My biggest challenge is going to be motivating myself to do more exercise, and not drinking wine. I love a good glass or two of wine in the evening, but I reckon thats a huge reason as to why I've put on all this weight. I also teach aerobics four mornings a week, but my body is so used to the routine and the class that some mornings I hardly break a sweat these days. So I think I need to NOT count those classes in my exercise routine, what do you think?

We have similar weight goals.

What is involved in the Tony Ferguson program?

I don't want to lose my weight fast. I want to lose it so that I know I'll be able to maintain it once its off. I need to keep away from the bread, the red wine and the cheese.

I reckon I can definitely do this, and I reckon you can too. Everyone has bad moments and no one can be perfect with their eating/exercise all the time. You just gotta pick yourself back up and try again.

Good luck with the Tony Ferguson program, WnD! My mother-in-law lost heaps of weight on that plan. I'm sure you'll do great!

We can all do this. I reckon the key is not depriving the body of the things you like, so that way you wont binge.

For example, my vices are red wine, cheese and bread. I'm allowing myself one slice of bread per day and I'm going to allow myself to have a glass or two of red wine every fortnight, which is a far cry better than I have been doing. I've started eating low fat cheese, and i'm not allowing myself to eat it every day. Maybe only a few times per week.

Not too long ago I was eating 6+ slices of bread per day and drinking 2-3 glasses of red wine at least 5 nights a week.

What about you guys?

Bugger Feybie. At least its a loss!!, and your on a good healthy eating plan, im sure it will be more next week! are you exercising? if so how much? Im much the same as you, LOVE a glass of wine, but also a beer a couple of times a week, it stacks on the weght!! But I just gave up smoking last week so havent been drinking either as the two go hand in hand for me, so thats good... stick at it, we're with you!

I'm exercising. I teach aerobics four mornings a week.

Monday = RPM
Tuesday = RPM

Thursday = Bodypump
Friday = Bodypump

on top of that, twice this week I've participated in step classes, as well. Next week I'm going to add some additional weight training to my regime as well, but I've been flat out this week and have had a hard time spending extra time at the gym.

Maybe my diet needs reassessing again. I didn't want to go cold turkey on the carbs or anything like that because I know I'll only go into 'craving shut down mode'. And I've definitely been a lot hungrier this week so I must be doing something right with my portion control and the kinds of foods i'm choosing. Today I nearly bought a huge bag of pistachio nuts to eat at uni (I was famished) but I ended up buying a fruit salad instead.
