Carley and John on their way to goal

Postby John » Sat Oct 31, 2009 10:06 am

Here we get to help each other out, I have 24kg to lose, quite a bit, at the moment I seem to be losing about 1kg a week (roughly) at the moment which is good. Although the last 2 days I've been gaining, not sure why, since my eating has stayed the same roughly.

Yeah thanks Sarah, my weight has stabilised (probably due to eating some carbs although I'm pretty sure I've been losing the last 2-3 days) so it's downhill from here.

Carley, you asked about exercise, at the moment I'm not doing any, I've decided that as long as I'm losing at a reasonable rate, I won't have to do any. I also find it stimulates my appetite, which makes it a bit pointless. As for any plan, at the moment I'm low carbing, having veges, fish and olive oil. It's really easy as I never really feel hungry, but it really is boring. No doubt I'll change things, but I've decided to go without flour until I reach goal. I'm only allowed flour on specific days that have some sort of significance (Christmas, birthday etc) so that's helping.

What are you doing? You've lost a lot of weight, how did you do it?

I currently walk and cross train, it's hard to make time with a baby who has separation anxiety and a demanding 4 year old but I try very hard to make time.

Weight wise, I did the ultra slim diet for a while, I lost about 20 kilos on it, the other 5-6 kilos I lost watching what I eat.

Last Thursday I started WW for something different, I have been on a plateau for 2 months and had enough!

I did a sneak weigh in today, I'm 79.6k, down 1 kilo since Saturday...holy crap!

I might push it for 2 by this coming Saturday?

Whatever happens I will take what I can get!

How are you?

I have also made myself a exercise goal for the month, that will motivate me as well.

Hi Carley, it must be hard looking after two children and trying to exercise. Congratulations on your kilogram loss! I've been at a plateau for a week, I've been eating more than I need to obviously but I've figured out what to eat and I'm hoping to start losing again. I weigh daily, I find it helps with motivation. What exercise goal did you make?

John.

I really hope you break your plateau soon, I know how frustrating they can be!!! :? I was on one for nearly 2 months... :x

My exercise goal is to do 400 minutes of exercise this month, I'm hoping to do more but if I only do 400 minutes the is 100 minutes a week, better than nothing right?

I weighed in today at 78 kilos, holy crap, I'm going to push it for 77k! I can't believe I'm at my November goal already! Instead of my November goal being 78k I'm aiming for 76k.

How much weight have you lost so far?

Hey you really seem to be losing weight fast! I think you're going to reach goal before me, you've got, what 10kg to go? I weighed the heaviest I've ever been on 3rd Sep, I've lost just over 4kg since then. I've noticed a few changes since then, my legs don't get sore as often and it's easier to tie my shoe laces up with my pants done up. I've still got a lot to go, by my reckoning I'll reach goal in no less than 256 days. I guess I am the ultimate yo-yo dieter, have a look at my weight over the last 20 years:

I think though that I've cracked the code to successful weight loss. I'll tell you in 2 1/2 months, when I have reasonable proof that it works.

Hey good luck with WW, if you know that you're losing, I'm sure that their scales will reflect that. As for my method of losing weight, I'm sure when you see it you'll think it's obvious, and it is really. I've based it on why I have failed in the past, or I just lose interest after a while.
