I'm so fed up with myself. I do everything right, eat the right food, exercise, and i cant drop the weight. I've decided to drop to 1200 calories because this is insane, and up my exercise to at least 6hrs of vigorous activities a week.

I'm so upset, i wanted to try getting pregnant at the end of the year but i need to be at least low 60s for that to happen. I feel like crying :(

Aww Shay... *hugs*

I can really understand your frustration, you work so hard and it's upsetting not to see the results on the scales. Just think that even if the scales aren't reflecting your results, you are definately doing a lot to help your body internally. I'm sure your fitness levels have improved over time, and being fit and healthy is more important than any number on the scales.

I'm sorry I don't really have any suggestions or tips for you, but I just wanted to reply to your post and let you know that you are doing a fantastic job, regardless of your results on the scales. If you end up getting pregnant, your body will be in a healthy state for both you and the baby, regardless of that number. Don't give up, you really are doing so well.

Take care :)

I'm not weighing in until Monday. I would love to be under 71 kilos but not feeling positive.

I did 55 minutes at the gym today. 30 minutes cross training, 10 minutes cycling and 15 minutes walking. :)

Thanks lovely ladies :)

miss_viva, i need to keep remembering what you're saying. It kind of bums me out that a year ago i was exercising less and eating junk and weighed 63, and now i'm doing all this stuff and im almost 10kgs more. And i thought i was too fat to get pregnant last year lol! Look at me know tsk tsk

Thanks Carley. My goal is to get under 68 by my 25th mid-April, and then under 62 by anniversary in July. Seems achievable, but my body is being a dumbass lol, and its starting to really bum me out, like today.

So i've had a pretty tough week emotionally, and have had to re-evaluate some goals of mine. Two big changes:

1) My goal weight is no longer 58. At the rate i'm going, its driving me mental. I've decided to change it to 64kg, and then take it from there when the time comes after a bit of maintenance.

2) I've also decided to not wait till the end of the year before considering trying for children. I'm going to spend the next 3 or so months trying to make my body good enough eg folate, iron, vit d, and then maybe start trying around mid-year.

I just think its the smarter thing to do since i've been diagnosed with PCOS. I had a good chat with my naturopath yesterday and she really helped me with what i've been experiencing.

And the good thing is only 7kgs to reach goal weight, which sounds a lot better than 13 yay! :D

Ahhh Shay "hugs" I feel your pain @ the same time so impressed with your upbeat attitute, revisiting and reseting your goal that is so smart and considerate to yourself. My best policy is to always be kind to myself. I am really impressed. I am sure you are going to make it to your goal weight pretty soon. And that little blessing is well on the way :) Little birdie told me that March is definatelly gonna be good to Shay-gal 8)

Hi Shay,
I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling at the moment. My advice would be to hide the scales and think of the long term!! Scales have always been a battle for me as well. But it sounds like you're doing fantastic with your eating and exercise and I'm 100% sure it will pay off soon!!
Best of luck with the folate etc :)

Thanks hun! I definitely think the scales thing is a good thing, i think i might do monthly weigh ins for a while and see if thats any better.

I'm about to admit something i've avoided mentioning since joining here. There's a reason i'm so good at my eating and exercise. It's not that i'm some highly motivated person or have read into it a lot etc. Ok, this is really embarassing *takes deep breath* : i'm a health promotion researcher in nutrition, physical activity and obesity. So its kinda second nature to me lol, i know a fair bit on the topic. And yes, i'm aware of the irony of being overweight hehe, but i still maintain that im 'fat and fit' :P

Crap, cant believe i finally exposed that one!
