October's challenge

We haven't done this for a while, let's do it again shall we? This is even great for maintaining.

Weight goal:
SW: 69 kilos
GW: 67 kilos

Good luck everyone!!! Let us motivate each other :) And get ready for summer and Christmas.
Goal for 2016:
Current weight: 94 kilos
Starting weight: 102.5 kilos
Goal #1: 92 kilos

Count me in! I have been hiding from here in shame, due to still not doing anything to get back into shape, but now it has to STOP. I will weigh myself tomorrow moring and the post my weight and goals for October. I have been avoiding the scale as well but I know that I am currently over 70 kilos, can feel it on my clothes. So sad, but anyway. . . . . I am geared for a new start as from right now.

Well I weighed myself this morning and as I feared, it was not good news. I am currently at 70.5 kilos. My goal for this month is to get to 67 kilos, a tall order, but what the heck, I am going to try my best.

I am going to record my food points as with WW and most importantly, exercise more. I am aiming for a 10 kilo race early in November. Another tall order, since I am not doing anything a.t.m. Hopefully this will be enough of a wake up call to get me moving.

great! I'm totally in. very motivated now - my goal for October is to get to 78kg. that's 3.5 down from my current weight. I reckon that can be done, no sweat. Actually, I'll probably sweat a bit :wink:

my starting weight for oct would have been 63kg and im hoping to loose 2-3kg so id be happy with 60-61kg.

how is everyone esle going?

And you know what? If we only lose 1 kilo each, we are 1 kilo better off! :)

I would also like to lose those extra 2-3 kg, then I could be around 59kg, which is my dream weight! :) Just those few kg comes so hard, if there would be more, then it would be much easier and faster. Specially when there starts new things in your life that are involved with a huge energy spending then also is need to get that energy from something, that why I see those as disadvantages that could disturb me from my goal. But I also agree that 1kg also would be just great! :) And we still have quite a lot time in October to get at least that 1 kg!

well ive almost lost 1kg! down to 62.1kg
since ive basically done no exercise since i started last week i have to put the weight loss down to healthy eating and controlling my portion sizes.
i now only eat my lunch and dinner with 1/2 of the plate full of veges, 1/4 protein and 1/4 carbohydrates. plus i feel full and not bloated!

cant wait to loose the rest of the weight. my current aim is 58kg and from there id like to get to 55-56kg. its not about the weight, but more about overall toning. i want to rock that bikini this summer.
i agree with mary though, its going to be hard and slow to get the rest of this weight off, but i must persist. also to keep healthy eating and exercise habits.

hey - just updating that I've lost 2.1 kilos in the last week. I'm pretty happy with that! I just hope it continues in a similar way - though I know the first week's loss is often the largest. Anyway, 2.9 kilos left of my October goal....

Hi - can I join in here...it seems I need as much motivation and support as ever...for some reason over the last week I have just GAINED everday! it is getting me down.

My challenge for this week is to lose 1.5 Kg by the end of October - doesn't seem likely with the gains I have been having.

Food and beverage challenges

Drop all drinks except veggie juices, water and herbal tea as from the 18th and drink at least 2L of water a day as from the 25th. As usual try to make healthy choices and try and cut down on snacking.

Exercise challenges

Go to the work gym 3 times/week

Workout for at least 30 mins eact day at home on the weekend.

Start weight: 69.9Kg
Goal weight: 68.4 Kg
SW: 87.7 kg
CW: 67.3 Kg
GW: 60.0 kg

Well my weigh in was on Tuesday morning and I was still stuck at 70.5 kg :oops: It was to be expected since I developed a huge boil type sore on the inside of my upper thigh last Monday and beside the fact that I could barely walk and therefore not exercise, I was no double strenth antis for a week, that stuffed up my body even more. I still feel bloated and horrible, but at least the swelling and pain is gone and I should be able to at least start power walking today.

I am hoping for better results this week!

congrats kotobird! thats a huge loss!!
and Gutsy health is so much more important than weight loss alone, but isnt it so great to just get back into it! hope you enjoy your power walk.

im going for another run this arvo. weighed in at 61.8kg and trying to get that down to at least 61kg by the end of the month. its getting hard to shed those kg's now because im at a healthy weight, but i really want to tone up and feel fantastic this summer!

gutsy - that sounds soooooo painful! good on you for getting back out there!!!

loveyourself - thanks :D wow you are doing so well! I am terrified of the last 10Kg let alone the last couple! I only lost 200 grams last week eventhough I did HEAPS of exercise :( I think I am set to lose only a few grams this week as well :( I need to change things up which is why I have picked the challenges that I have...everyone I talk to seems to say the same tips on weight loss

* just drink water or herbal teas
* drink at least 2 L of water
* dont eat after 7/particularly dessert
*dont eat white things and processed things
*avoid or dont eat sugar...even natural sugar
* dont snack

So I am going to do all of these one week at a time. It like a mini 6 week challenge for myself and a little experiement...should be interesting to see if the weight comes off.
