can I just throw in my 2 cents on the "don't snack" thing - I don't think this is a good idea... it's been shown that eating at frequent intervals helps prevent your metabolism from slowing down and stops you from getting hungry. I would recommend it, as I've been snacking - healthy snacks like vita-weats and fruit, and it's made the whole process so much easier, because I haven't felt hungry. And I've lost 2.5kg in 10 days... it can work fine as long as your snacks are logged as much as your meals.

thanks for your encouragement dustany1dust. ive only just got back into exercise so its probably just the shock to the system forcing the weight off!!
i have two snacks between main meals - one fruit and the other one 6 almonds. if im going for a run ill replace the almonds with a slice of wholegrain & wholemeal bread with a thin layer of peanut butter (full fat!)
but if the snacking doesnt work for you then dont do it. one type of diet is not for everyone and its just about listening to your body and figuring out what works for you.
i agree with no white or processed things. i feel bad these days if i eat something like that and i definatley dont crave it! yuck!
dont be terrified about the last 10kg, its just going to take longer to shed the weight, but if your eating and exercising it will come off :) i reckon its more the last 5kg anyway that are difficult

i am down to 61.6kg today so thats a loss of 1.4kg from last friday. hoping to get to 60kg by the end of the month so im aiming for a 1kg loss for next friday. thereabouts

how is everyone else doing?

Sorry I should have been more specific, I eat 6 small meals a day but I was snacking on top of those particularly after dinner :) I would never deprive myself if I am hungry...I am beyond the point of being hungry just because my stomach is used to having food so I listen to my body :)

loveyourself - what you doing sounds so good...how long have you been running? I am just doing interval training...I walk on the treadmill for 25 mins (this is all I can fit in at work) during that time I do intervals and I walk (fast) and jog/run...I can only jog/run for 2 mins at the mintue and then I have to work for 1-5 mins...depending on how I am feeling...I know I have to beef up from exercise but I am so scared of my fitness level.

oh im so glad your focusing on eating well and not just restricting your food.
ive been running on and off for a few years but ive made a promie to myself to go running at least twice per week for good to keep my fitness up.
when i started i couldnt even run down the road but i built up to running further and further till i ran 12km city to surf.
i much prefer to run outside because theres something to look at. maybe you should give it a go, oh and i always take my ipod and put some heavy metal or some great songs on there to keep me going.
just push yourself a little more each time. everytime you run on the treadmill just try to do a minute more each week, even if you have to break it up into 20sec increments during the week.
great to see you know what your body needs, thats the first step.

Still plodding along...I have lost the weight I gain from last friday...but of course I am going in to a long weekend and I always seem to gain when I am at home instead of working...no matter what I do!

So I am sitting on 69 Kg  I just want to get to 68.something...however if I only maintain or slight gain next week I am officially at a stand still...

Oh well I better go off to the gym.

I weighed in at 79.6 today - yaaaay! Under 80!! it's kinda like when they charge $9.99 for something, just feels like it's less than it is :P

Anyway, that's 3.5 kg lost since October 5th. Only 1.5 to reach the October goal.

i was wondering if any of you guys use yoga as part of your exercise? Ive just got into it and i find it really beneficial to my flexibility, my breathing capabilities, relaxtion, spiritual awareness and even my running!
i also have a blog that i share my experiences of hot yoga & spirituality. http://meaningofeverythingesle.blogspot.com/
anyway what i was getting to is i would like to connect with someone who loves yoga!
i want to take the focus off just weight loss and find & connect with my spiritual self.
please dont hesitate to leave me a message on my blog!

I started this challenge at 69 kilos, I think I'm around 68 kilos. I won't know until end of week. Is anyone interested in a November challenge? These challenges may be great because Christmas is so close?

well done dustanydust! such an achievement!!

i reached my goal of 61kg too. actually im 60.3kg now so i beat it by 700g. excellent!
must stay modivated and reach my goal next month.

does anyone get a goal, or loose a few kilos then put it back on? Sometimes ill loose a few and then i cant stop thinking about food and devour too much. not this time though. i have found healthy delicious food and i am always prepared with healthy snacks. it seems i have to be very organised!
