June 2011 Challenge

Postby AndieS79 » Mon Mar 28, 2011 2:00 pm

Hi All,

I am a new mum to a 3 month old baby girl and I turn 32 on the 28th of June.
This is the perfect oppurtunity for me to lose a few kilos by then and to feel good about myself.
I started today and I plan keeping a food and exercise diary and I'm hoping that this will be the motivation I need.

Who wants to join me?? This could be fun!! :)

Cheers
Andie

I will join you! I am going to the USA in July/August for 5 weeks and it will be great if I can lose a few kilos before then. I am currently still on 70kg. Hopefully this will motivate me.

yes please! I want to finally loose some wgt this semester - I have been hovering on the same (between 78-82) for about a year and I would really like to change that!!

I have just started to really change what I am eating so it is still a lot of guess work as to what is enough to loose wgt and not so much that I am really hungry and give in to tempting foods - I am trying the weigh-it-up eating plan now (just done my day of soup and starting the cooking tomorrow) so I will let you know how I go sticking to that...

Starting weight = 77kg

I look forward to hearing how you are both going!

btw end of june is perfect for me as that is when I get a break to see my family :) i would love to lose a few kgs by then

Welcome Gutsy and bjam! :)
Since my first post, I've went a bit backwards! ugh! :(
I haven't walked and I ate a couple of naughty things.
I'll keep going though - you can't give up after a couple of set backs right??

Hope you guys are going well.

Hey andie
definitely cant give up after a couple set backs! I think starting is always the hardest part anyway - I think commitment is getting back to the original plan, especially after setbacks - it wouldnt be nearly as challenging without a few setbacks :P
i have had a pretty good week - have lost 1kg since joining this challenge, which makes 2kg loss overall :) and I am already feeling a lot better eating all this good food! I am so chuffed with this start, but dont expect it to keep going so fast as I started this week with a soup diet and I have no intention of doing that each week lol.
look forward to hearing what you guys are up to and how it is all going!

urgh - I am tired and in a bad mood tonight - on the upside I am not hungry now that I have had my healthy dinner... I feel this is probably from the lack of carbs and sweet things... but hopefully it will pass.

bjam - well done on your 2 kg weightloss! :) That's fabulous!
Welcome Brendan! :) That's a reasonable target that you have set yourself. Lets get the weight off together! :)

Easter Eggs are evil! I had a few little ones last night! :(
I was good most of the weekend, and I think the limited carbs is getting to me too.

Anyhow, no weightloss to report for last week. Will soilder on and hope for a loss this week!

How are you guys going?

I played tennis this week and went to my weekly yoga class yesterday - im feeling good - but must admit the wgt has stayed the same since last thursday! I am a little dissapointed, but will stick to this eating plan for a while longer before I try changing it and see if things start to change at all.

I am a total of 3kg down from my start weight so not unhappy with that - just confused as to why it has come to a total standstill for almost a wk??

Hi All,

I would love to join your challenge. I worked super hard to loose a lot of weight before my 30th bday but sadly I have recently put a whole pile back on. I know exactly what my problem is... I am the ultimate emotional eater!!!! But I am going away at the beginning of July and would like to be bikini ready (or at least a little closer) by then :)

I was gutted this morning when I weighed in at 100kg. Very disheartening when I know how hard I worked to loose this all in the first place. I would like to be 84kg by the time my trip comes around.

I look forward to hearing how well all of you are doing and also am excited about sharing my own results with you.

welcome jetsetter! good luck with your weight loss goals - having done it once at least you know you can do it again! I am the same with the emotional eating - it is so hard to be both super stressed or upset AND still on a diet! (which is why the diet tends to go out the window for me :P ) - I am going to do better this time - I am committing myself for the long haul!

look forward to hearing what you are doing to loose weight and your progress over the next few weeks!

if anyone wants to chat about diets they are trying etc I would be keen - I am really getting into watching my food this time!

Hello All,

Welcome jetsetter & ume, and good luck with your weightloss goals! :)
I'm happy to report a 1 kilo weightloss this week! :) Very pleased.
So this week my little challenge for myself is to eliminate sugar from my diet. And by that I mean - no sugar in my coffee and no sweets.
Going to be hard, because like some of you I too am an emotional eater and reach for a sweet treat first!
I'm going out to do the groceries for the week in about an hour so will make sure I come back with some fruit as a substitue to sweet treats.
Fingers crossed!

How did you go minus the sugars andie?

How is everyone else going? What are you trying?

I weighed in at 73.1 this morning ... almost at the 5kg loss... not quite... hoping it will drop just a little in the next day or two :D - I am avoiding big sweets altogether and indulging in low fat yogurt with cereal or my awesome breakfast smoothie with banana and blueberries!

Hope everyone has some nice plans for easter weekend!

Great chocolate egg recipe you can make yourself that is kinda healthy (lots of good things and I find dark choc you eat less of): 200g dark choc (70% cocoa), 20g cranberries, 20g slivered almonds (or any fruit and nuts) - melt the choc, put it in egg moulds or those little chocolate patty cases to coat the bottom, add fruit and nut, top with chocolate to fill - let them set in fridge overnight or freezer for an hour and enjoy :)

I have 'at last' lost 1 kilo and I now weigh 69 kilos. I stopped eating all sweet things more that 3 weeks ago. It was not easy for me, because I have the biggest sweet tooth ever, but, so far so good! I will be having some treats during Easter, so lets hope I can get back on te sugar free track imediately afterwards. I must admit that I just love the feeling that I am not a slave of sugar anymore :D It almost make me afraid to have a sweet treat just incase I struggle afterwards to get back in the no sugar mode. I do still have way too much dried fruit(the type without any sugar in), but I am working on that and hope to reduce the dried fruit eating drastically within the next week or so.
