2012 CHALLENGE - LOSE 10KGS IN 10 WEEKS!!!

Hi all,

Want to join my challenge?
Let's try and lose 10kgs in 10 weeks, starting mon, 20th Feb - mon, 30th April!. Check-ins will be on mondays.
I am starting at 75kgs.

A bit about me... I joined this site a few years ago and managed to lose 8kgs in a short period of time (approx 10 weeks). I went from 83kgs (post-baby) and got down to 75kgs (which is what I weigh now). Whilst maintaining this weight is good, I can do better. My new goal is 65kgs- to try to lose 10kgs this time and I am determined as I do not feel comfortable being over-weight especially with young, fit, little kids.

My plan of attack? I am walking my kids to school and kinder every day, so that is my 2hrs or so of exercise a week. I am decreasing the amount of food I eat (as I eat quite healthily but too much - often justifying eating the kids' leftovers!! bad idea...) and am also cutting down on snacking inbetween meals (my weakness). I am also taking up meditation and hoping this new focus and peace will relieve some boredom and restlessness which leads me to overeat throughout the day.

What are your plans? Let me know and we can help and support each other. This forum was the best way I lost weight in the past because I was held accountable every week and didn't want to let the team down and I believe I can do it again. Please join me. Together we can do it! :wink:

Hi,

I don't know that a goal of 10kg in 10 weeks is exactly fitting to my weightloss technique/philosophy (basically I am concentrating in how I do with the lifestyle changes rather than what the scales say) but I'd love to be a part of the group support and have motivation and someone to answer to each week. I MAY lose 1 kg a week but I would be happy with half that as long as I know I am doing what I am supposed to, so can you count me in?

As you can see, my starting weight is 71kg.

A bit about what I am doing ... in a nutshell I am eating what I am supposed to and exercising. That is making sure I have 3ltr water daily, 5 serves of vegies, 3 serves of dairy, protein rich food at least 3 times a day, choosing healthier carb alternatives and thinking about food, flavour and cooking techniques that require the least fat, salt and sugar. I have reset my life so, simlarly to you, I am walking or cycling to pick up children in leiu of motorised transport. As that is 6.5 km away from my work and home, that is 13km 5 times a week.

I have been weighing in on Wednesdays but I can change to Monday.

Hey this sounds good, just the motivation I need to get going. I will be in as well my current weight is 109.4kg, so all going well I should be 99kg in 10 weeks. DAMN, that sounds good bring it on :D

Current weight 83.8kg. 10 kilos would see me so close to my goal!!

WOW!

Can I join, this sounds great.
I am back on my diet after falling of the wagon again and gaining 7kg, I always get close to goal weigh of 65kg then fall off and have to start again.
I am 75.6kg and would love to see 65.6kg in 10 weeks.

Hi all,

Just thought id pop in and see how everyone is going. So far on day 3 i am doing great, eating right and exercising! Could have eaten a bar/block of chocolate this morning but luckily there is none in the house so settled for a cup of coffee and one plain biscuit!PHEW!!! that was close.

Good job on the coffee and biscuit!!

I went shopping today and totally ignored all the chocolate and lollies an managed to come home with no 'goodies' at all - am sure my kids will not be impressed - but hey!!

I'm down to 108.7 at the moment, really hope to get down. Gotta do my 2k walk tonight as its my first solid week of walking.

Good to hear some positive starts. I am doing okay. Excited to have a bike for cycling again! I have been doing other physical exercise and am sticking to my eating plan (except the day I didn't eat enough), so all good.
