Weigh in is Thursday for me and I'm both excited and nervous. I took my final sneak peak at the scales last night (so I don't drive myself more insane than I already currently am) - 87.9kg! Hopefully this number will stick around for weigh in, I think a loss like that might see me in the top 2 for my other challenge and I want it so badly!!!

I'm getting there, no movement last couple of days so time to step it up at the gym tonight..

You are doing great Shelley, keep it up and you'll reach the end of month goals no problem..

At least my weight's been consistent. :-)

Over the past fortnight I've increased vegetables (high-fibre/low Kj) and decreased meat and processed foods. Will reexamine portion size though.

Is the scale stuck?

But seriously...there are scales out there that have a few kilos tolerance built in them. They remember the last weight...and if it is close it will display the previous number! Which could really mess you around when you are interested in smaller movements of your weight! Try stepping on it with one foot to clear it's previous reading and see if that makes any difference.

Looking at portion size is always a good idea. That is usually where most of us end up straying!

Anyway look at the positive...at the very least - you got this maintenance thing down pat! :D

Don't throw in the towel when you are so very close to achieving your goal!

The cliché is that it is always darkest before the dawn...cliché became cliché because there is often a great deal of truth behind them.

I know how you feel. You just want it to be over. Been there - bought the t-shirt! But for your journey to have meant anything you owe it to yourself to finish it through to the end! I know how hard it is, I know how dispirited you are feeling right now but I also know how much better you will feel when you achieve that which you set out to get.

You are so so so very close...finish the task you know you should. We are here to support you! :D

thanks so much Kim, I won't & can't give up its ingrained in me to get to the finish line and get on that maintenance. I took yesterday out to think a few things through and I DEFINITELY want this and HAVE to finish, I owe it to myself. I ain't sweatin & bloomin well liftin weights and flippin tyres for the fun of it  I dug out some old clothes this morning and was ever so happy to see they fit so much better, the muffin top has all but gone - halleluhah thank god for that, so yes I have to continue otherwise I will never forgive myself and probably put more weight on then I started with & I do not want that.

Well, the end of the challenge is creeping up quickly now!

LW: 89.5kg
TW: 87.5kg

WOOHOO!!! Bring on the mid to low 80's! These are my magic numbers and it still feels so surreal being back in the 80's again! I can't believe how happy I am just to be this far along and I think that's going to be my winning point this time round. I'm happy with every loss and have ALWAYS looked back on those mid to low 80's with sadness in my heart wishing I was still there. Now I'm so close and I'm so proud of myself that I'm really quite happy to shift the weight in healthy increments once this challenge is done and dusted. Some weeks I may up the anty if I'm feeling particularly competitive 8) but otherwise, I'm happy with my achievements. Now I just need to work on the rest of my life!

Things have not been going very well at home, I feel like I've been fighting for time with my partner between his hobby of bike riding and it sucks  My body and mind can't keep taking this and I'm seriously considering some time apart so we can both sort ourselves out, I really don't know what else to do at this point.

Hope that you get your private life sorted Shelley, can't be the best of times to be dealing with weight loss as well but you are doing magnificently, you are bang on target to achieve the loss you targeted..

My body finally said NO yesterday! One particular blister had been causing me agony for days so I got it sorted and had the night off, the first night I've not done some kind of exercise since I started in mid Jan.. Hopefully I'll be raring to go tonight but then have a few days off in Melbourne so it will be a case of watch this space on Monday morning.. :|

Shelley...have you thought about taking up bike riding? Time together...and exercise!

JP...probably a good idea to rest and let the blister heal. If you don't look after the body - it will only bite you back later. Very interested to see how you go in Melbourne. I think that you will learn a lot about yourself there. It will be a challenging time...but think it out and plan it up - and you will do ok. :D

Alas, it is motorbike riding and definitely not my thing. For one, I enjoy my safety and I'm truly not coordinated enough  Besides, I think he prefers to do it alone...

Motorbike?..."life is cheap for that kind of scum" (can anybody remember which movie that quote is from? Rocky Horror maybe?).
Just a thought...I guess we all can't share the same interest...as they say - variety is the spice of life. :D

Motorbikes scary me to death. I rode on the back of one once...once was enough!

 They are indeed scary! Riding on the back of a scooter in the Cook Islands was quite enough thrill for me ;) I'd prefer to do photography or writing and it's much safer!

Woo hoo indeed Shelley! That's great going, a full 2kg down for the week, IMPRESSIVE!!! You go girl!!

Certainly puts to shame my measly 300g loss for the week  but hey, a loss is a loss, so I can't complain too loudly especially as I could barely move all week. My ankle is still quite tender and (though not as badly) still swollen from the sprain, so I'm counting my small loss this week down as a big bonus!!! :D

With one more week of the challenge left (unless I cut off a limb) I can't see myself getting to the 88kg I had hoped for but (all going well) I may make it into the 80's??!!
