Hell Month Challenge..

Who wants to join me but only for the deadly serious - I just wrote this on my personal page :

Those goals I set myself are looking tough but it's not over yet..

99.9 Kg by 01 Mar
95 Kg by 31 Mar
92 Kg by 18 Apr

Was a few 100 grams lower a couple of days ago and thought I had a chance of the 90's by tomorrow but woke up this morning up on last couple of days for no particular reason, it happens.. Having said that I might get a nice surprise in the morning on Mar 1st but I'm looking a little further afield at that 31 March weight now..

So I resolve to give it my best shot during March, I'm calling it HELL month! :evil: :mrgreen:

The only trap I see is a weekend in Melbourne on 21/22/23 but it's not pencilled in to be a messy one.. therefore I am allowing myself 5 beers for the whole month and 3 sessions of not going to the gym or my evening walks to coincide with that trip but resolve to eat healthily whilst away and also do some kind of exercise, walking etc during that weekend.

At the end I want to weigh-in on the morning of April 1st and find that I have half way smashed the 90's.. It's a tough target but I'm deadly serious this time and pretty well 'in the zone' now to do this..

The first hurdle to this will be a family BBQ on Sunday, I'll eat healthily no doubt but want to try not to waste any of my beers on that - will no doubt keep you all updated on my progress on this challenge..


Who is in? Start tomorrow morning, leave your weight here and tell us your target weight and what constraints you intend placing on yourself during this month..

Report periodically with final weigh-in on the morning of April 1st - I just hope the Hell Month of March Challenge doesn't make a fool of us.. :oops: :wink: 8)

SW: 90kg
GW: 85kg

My 12 Week Challenge finishes on the 26th of March but I will give myself til April 1st to be slightly more realistic :lol:

I will exercise 6 days a week and make sure I get enough sleep and stay positive. My food has been good so I just need to keep at it and drink plenty of water. The only hurdle I foresee is my birthday next Thursday. I am going out for brunch with friends but going to sus out the menu beforehand and make a healthy choice for myself to ensure I'm still within goal for the day. I may get pizza for my birthday but will work it into calories and after exercise.

Excellent Shelley, glad someone is going to take up the challenge with me.. We can do this! As you say Bring it on! I will be back with my start weight tomorrow but regardless by target in 95 Kgs..

A gutsy challenge this one. You are really nailing your colours! Good one! :D

I looked at my records for when I was around that weight. 3rd July 2011 I was 100.3kg (previous day I was 100.9kg) and it took me until 2nd August to get to 94.8kg (previous day 95.6kg...the day after I was 94.6kg). So that is a month...so you know it can be done! It was tough going though. I had ten days (not in a row - or I would have shot myself :lol: ) where my weight was more than the previous day. I had two really good weekly weigh ins and two modest losses weeks in that period.

Now I draw the line in the sand...I challenge you to better it! :shock:
I reckon with your weight training you should be able to - just so long as you watch what you eat!

Yeah looked at my weight drop from 2007 and wasn't too far off yours.. Think the key is actually getting in those 90s ASAP to give me a chance, still not there this morning and the dreaded BBQ today but if this latest challenge isn't incentive enough, of course I'm up for it :wink: 8)

Tough Sunday morning sesh down the gym, 100 Ab crunches, 30 arm weights, wasn't my weights day so did an hour on treadmill at 7kph.. Considering wasn't in bed until 4am watching football, it wasn't a bad effort, few hours in the pool this arvo and take dog for 4k walk tonight.. Now to negotiate the BBQ :mrgreen:

Go for it JP and Ganymede, :D

Me personally, I'm going to keep plodding along in the hope of reaching my original 88kg goal by the end of the January challenge. The fact that I took a holiday in between these weeks and experienced a substantial fluctuation in weight (to say the least!) means I'll be over the moon if I can make my goal (without trying to stretch the limits further)!

But I wish you both, and anyone else that will take it on, ALL THE VERY BEST! GO TEAM!!! :wink:

Thanks Diva, well glad to report the BBQ went well, didn't use any of my valuable beers, ate reasonably, swam for a couple of hours AND just come back from a one hour 7k walk.. Just the dogs 4k walk later on to do.. Weigh-in day for the 12 Week Challenge tomorrow so I hope it's all been worth it..

Put in extra hard at the gym this evening, 1 hour on treadmill : 10 mins @ 7kph followed by 5 mins @ 10kph x 4 times.. This after a weight session and 130 Ab crunches..

Will take the dog out for his 4k in a couple of hours, let's see if that has any effect on my this weeks weigh in..
