Finally feel that I've made a start on this challenge now.. Going to be tough to meet that 95 Kg target by Apr 1st after the sluggish start but still got 20 days left and will be giving it my all!

Determination and willpower, determination and willpower..... look what you have achieved so far since the start of the year - huge amount of weight gone forever. Yes it is tough and a huge struggle but I have faith that you are more determined than ever to reach your goal - shake it up a bit to absolutely shock the body and results will be yours :)

Yup that might be the key, have been a bit off colour since Sunday even though I've been consistent on my exercise but maybe a big effort in that department will as you say shock the body into yielding even more, 95 Kgs is still on but it could hurt!

Thanks JP, that's very kind. I am trying my best to keep my mind off things and focus on me, that's all I can do for now so I don't go insane

Take it easy if you're feeling a bit funky, feed your body with good foods to help combat whatever could be on its way. I personally wouldn't push it too hard out at the gym if you haven't been feeling right but keep those work outs consistent and maybe confuse your body by having a solid meal - I found this seemed to work for me because I knew my body needed something really weighty and substantial and then I was back into my usual eating and it shocked my body into action.

I weighed last night to see what I was in for and I'm sitting on 89kg exactly for the moment. If I can keep that number for weigh in tomorrow, I will be more than happy after the week I've had. My partner leaves for the US for work on Sunday so I think I'll maybe busy my mind by spending some casual sessions at the gym and getting some serious walking in. If I can keep 89kg for this week, I'd like to see 87 point something next week if I work really hard. Even if I can reach 87kg by the 1st of April, I'd be happy. I want those low 80's to be mine by the end of April and the 70's by the end of May.

I'm just finding it hard to get my head in the game and stay focused when my mind is all over the place

I've given myself a tough ask, from Day 1 it's been 30 Kgs by July 1st.. I'm in this with an ex WLF member outside of the forum and I'm determined to get as close as possible.. It's also why I've given myself such a hard challenge here, if I'm going to get close to this l need a good run up to Easter and then I'm away for 2 weeks.. That is going to be the test..

My diet is pretty good and substantial, sustainable in the long term.. It's all that damn snacking in between that is my downfall, l will eat healthy meals and then scoff absolute rubbish in between.. If l can keep the exercise going and not binge in between then I'll be able to enjoy the luxuries like my beers  in moderation..

Will take your advice about my body on board, just had a cough I can't shake but it's not that bad really.. Will wait and see how I feel tonight and go from there, maybe a couple more days like the last wouldn't go amiss but I'll play it by ear, am feeling up for it at the moment though my feet are sore and blistered from pounding the pavement but I can push past that after the first 5 minutes..

I think you are being very realistic with your expectations and sorry for heaping any additional pressure on you by cranking it up on this challenge.. Think I've explained my reasoning now but you are right this is a long term game we are playing and it's better to arrive than to crash and burn..

You have done brilliantly and I can see you in those 70s by May, it's all good 8)

I joined this challenge literally hours before everything unraveled so I wasn't to know things were going to get harder

Realistic is definitely what I need to be at the moment. If I set myself insurmountable goals, I will only let myself down and then feel bad about not reaching for what I wanted to. Being realistic means I can still aim to see results from this, just maybe not the original results I was hoping for.

I have 2 weeks to make things count, if I could lose 2kg between now and then I'd be happy. And that would bring me down to 87kg and well within the 80's.

I hope the straight and narrow works well for you JP, you seem to have your head in the game and your heart in it as well and that's the most important thing. Just make sure you give your body those allowances when you aren't feeling great so you don't tuck into a few too many beers and bad food

Not that I have anything against beer, I love my beer ;)

JP, it could have been 4 beers - but you indulged in that extra one. Pace those 3 out...or you will run out!

Shelley is right about that solid meal. When I felt that I was "stretching" my body a little too much I would have a good dinner (steak/mushrooms/potatoes). I always got a good number to follow. It was like my body sat up, took notice - felt much better and got out the knife and fork ready for more...only to return to the usual mean serves - so it quick went to it's reserve stash (my fat) and raided the lard in the larder!

Yeah...snacks. I know that one. My maintenance would be a doddle if it wasn't for that! Most of my daily exercise goes on making up on the snacking...and I'm just staying where I am. How hard is it when you are trying to lose weight? It may be healthy snacks...but too many IS too many!

Forget determination and willpower...we are beyond that now! - it is SHEER BLOODY MINDEDNESS that will get us through!!!

Hi Kim, I eat enough, honest.. I'm not skimping, it's filling and better still tastes good, lots of chicken and fish but also a weekly steak.. Plenty of veg and lots of fruit for dessert and in between..

Lol re the three beers, they will keep..

And as for sheer bloody mindedness, have got that one down pat

So anyway, I have a challenge within a challenge now.. seemingly I have inspired my mate to lose weight.. One thing led to another and suddenly the bet was on, who would lose the most in the next five weeks.. This coincides brilliantly with when I go away and when I had targeted 92 Kgs.. So now I'm going for it big time, Hell month has been extended to April 18th *for me anyway :D *

It's only fair that my beer allowance should go up commensurately so 5 beers between now and then allowed 8)

For the record I am 98.5 Kgs today and he is 95 Kgs.. He said he will be at least 91 Kgs or 4 Kgs loss, well I got news for him - I'm aiming for 6.5 Kgs.. The bet is $50..I know he can get off to a flyer compared to me but I also know him and the whole thing could end in tears within a week or two.. In the meantime I have even more incentive to reach my goal..

Losing 20 Kgs in 95 days is some going, 1.3 Kgs a week for the next five weeks will give me just that..

Bring it on!

Hi all,

First let me start with YOU'RE ALL DOING GREAT, even you Shelley with your 200g; given the circumstances I think that's pretty good going!

I lost 600g this week, and although I did crack the 91's yesterday (reaching 90.9kg) I went up 100g since then. However I think that 100g gain is probably in my twisted ankle!! You see, I tripped coming down stairs yesterday and twisted my ankle which is now swollen like a balloon (and really really tender) So who knows, maybe if I didn't have the swelling I may been (and stayed under 91kg); oh well, next week?!

Keep up the good work everyone; you're doing great!!!

Diva, you poor thing!! :( I hope you're back on your feet soon! I'd be blaming that too plus the added stress/pain could be the reason your body is "hanging on" to things, I know mine does during times of stress.

I have still been very up and down but my food and exercise has been great. I did a 9.6km walk on Friday and it was awesome but boy, my calves are SO SORE  So of course I'm going to stretch it all out by getting on the exercise bike :P

I did eat more on Friday though because I burned 641 calories so I was starved! Did pretty well considering and even only had one beer, didn't even reach for the second ;) I haven't had a beer since New Year's Day so you can imagine how amazing it was  Rest day was yesterday so from now til weigh in, exercising everyday. I sneaked at the scales yesterday and I'm down to 88.6kg so will see how things pan out over the days ahead. My partner leaves for Utah tonight and I'm sure you DON'T want to know but it's TTOM so I'm am emotion wreck  So I'm just going to be a hermit for the next few days at least and spare everyone my wrath and teary's

Anyway, I hope everyone has been doing fabulously, it sure seems like it! Time to get on with that exercise and win this challenge 8)

We seem to need about the same weight to crack this challenge Shelley, still got a couple of weeks to do it..

Sorry to hear about the injury Divq, hopefully you'll be fit to go soon, nothing worse than having a body that can't cope with what your mind wants to put it through.. On a smaller scale I have it with my blistered feet at the moment.. I have to push through a minor pain barrier every time I move let alone every time I exercise
