So it's 10 weeks away (according to the paper) and I thought maybe we could get a group together to enjoy the day together. It'll give us something to aim for, give us a chance to meet up and maybe even help us lose weight!

I was thinking of entering the 4.5km myself, probably in the maroon joggin category (meaning I have to complete it within 40mins) but there are other categories.

So Brisbanites...who's interested?

Hey there

I did the 12km back in 2005, and was hoping to get there again this year and beat my time of 2 years ago.

I'm only a walker though, don't do jogging LOL. I'm trying to et my hubby to do it with me this year, and so far he seems keen, just need a babysitter and we're set. Going to be sending in the forms in the next few weeks. If I can jog sections that would be good, but I'll just have to see how I go, I was wiped out last time just walking it.

It might be a little hard to get a group of people who are all in the same catergory (and same fitness level) who are happy walking at the same pace. Maybe we could set up a training schedule for everyone who wants to participate in the race to cover the next 10 weeks though? Make a group effort that way? Just a suggestion anyway.

At the moment I want to try and get out there walking every day if possible.

I was thinking about doing the B2B as my girl friend is running in it and wants me to run with her. We'll be running the longer course the 12ks I think it is.

I definitely think you should go ahead with it. You did so well in your school cross country, this will be a peice of cake - 4.5ks. You can do it.

GW1 - 70kgs
GW2 - 67kgs
GW3 - 60kgs

MickeyB, a training schedule is a great idea and i agree with how it could be hard getting people who walk/run @ the same pace.

Because I hurt my shins (doing to much at once for my weight) I'll be walking the 12Ks.
